This application is an upgrade to the built-in camera application, for your Nokia N8. It will look familiar to you, no doubt. It's still the great N8 camera, providing superb results. We've just made it a little better by making some of the improvements we didn't manage to squeeze into the Symbian Anna release.
- We tweaked the UI, to provide camera aficionados faster access to essential camera controls
- We improved the quality of recorded videos, by cranking up the video recording speed to 30 FPS and adding the heavily requested continuous auto-focus (in close-up mode).
Read all the nitty-gritty details of the improvements in this post by Damian Dinning at Nokia Conversations.

Problems with Anna 025.007 update:
Some users have reported this application (Camera update for N8) stopped functioning after they received the Anna SW update version 025.007. Upon starting camera, these users gets a "Unexpected error occured, please restart the device" message. If that happens to you, uninstalli the application following the steps described above. You can then reinstall the "Camera update for N8" application, to get the functionality back. We are investigating for a real fix for this very annoying issue.
Installation problems:
If you face installation problems, make sure that the component "ODML commons repository" has not been installed in your device. The problematic component was installed by an old Nokia Maps beta version. To verify if you have this faulty component, follow these steps:
1. From the main standby screen press the application key.
2. Select "Settings".
3. Select "Application Manager".
4. Select "Installed Applications".
