yes me too says app already built in uninstaled big screen first as required but same issue
Me too. Could anyone advise how to fix? Thanks.
For me too. Do everything recomended - no result :( Reinstall anna - no result, down to factory settings - no result.
Same here :(
Same here. I tried to remove other camera apps (+previous version of this), nokia bubbles 3dgaze, etc.. Also disabled sleeping screen and stopped all applications from running with app stop. Still getting the same error and can't install!
Please help! I already tried the (5) version with macrovideo and the new UI and it seemed great! So I want this newer version installed asap. Can I send some install-debug-file (which one?) somewhere to help you figure out what causes the installation error?
My setup:
N8 (059D2S8)
Symbian Anna 022.014 (2011-07-05)

I get this messsge when i try and install the camera update.
I've uninstalled camera pro and plus, although still have panorama, installed and run app killer, rebooted and still it won't work.
Can anyone advise me as to what's going wrong please?
I'll add, I have upgraded to Anna, with all components installed.
I also can't upgrade to 3.08 maps, see my other thread.
All this cool new stuff and I can't use it!!!
Would you have,by any chance, installed Nokia Big Screen, long time ago? Some very early version of Big Screen may cause problems similar to the ones you are describing.
I also have the same problem, any help would be appreciated.
Same problem here. I uninstalled Big Screen, which made no difference.
The initial N8 Camera update installed fine. If I need to remove that first, please let me know which components to uninstall from the Application Manager.
Same problem here. I uninstalled Big Screen, which made no difference.

Thanks for the replies.
I did install Big Screen, but removed it long ago, same for Situations, Bots and any other Beta stuff I installed.
There must be something blocking this, and the maps update, so any help appreciated.
Thanks for all your comments, I have now got this to work by removing the Big Screen installer file, as well as uninstalling it.
I look forward to nice 30fps videos!
Cheers.
Moderator joined from Camera update for Nokia N8/Discussion/v9.23(6) unable to install, it's a built in component!
Symbian Anna installed, no promblem, it's cool. First, installed v9.23(5) without any problem. Today i am unable to install v9.23(6) with error "unable to install, it's a built in component". Uninstalling camera app/reboot/using app stop application/pressing 8sec pwr reboot - not helps. Anny idea/update? Please!
no solution to this problem?
I have the same problem, Symbian Anna installed, everything working fine.
I tried shutting down apps with AppStop, I uninstalled Big Screen and Play To but still the camera update will not install. N8 error "Unable to install. Component is built in". Ovi Suite error "File is in use: There was a problem accessing the file, because another application is using it".
But things have just got worse ...
I tried to re-install Big Screen and it failed! Error message on N8 "Unable to install a protected application from a supplier that is not trusted". Ovi Suite error code 2153775105.
I think the problem is Big Screen install until Anna. If we uninstall BigScreen until Anna's update this camera up works. My opinion. Moderator please!?
@bortonet:
I have never had Big Screen installed on my phone but I still have the problem that the beta camera app will not install. Also some other apps from the store will not install either as well as PlayTo from BetaLabs.

Nokia has recently posted a list of FAQ that may help in this case:
http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Software-Updates/Symbian-Anna-Tro...
Some users of the forum reported that FA136048 solved the "can't install" issue.
If you haven't installed BigScreen, you could also try : FA136073
The content of the two FAQ is cut and pasted below.
If any of this help, please report it here, so that we can help other users facing same issues! Thanks in advance.

FA136048: Do you have problems with Symbian Anna & Nokia Big Screen?
If you have faced problems with Symbian Anna and Nokia Big Screen, please uninstall the old Big Screen Beta version and install a new one from Ovi via http://store.ovi.com/content/106490?clickSource=search&pos=1
In detail:
1. Uninstall Nokia Big Screen Beta: Go to Settings > Application Manager > Installed Apps. Long press Nokia Big Screen Beta, and then Select Uninstall and “Yes” for all enquiries. After uninstallation, please make sure that all Big Screen related files are removed. If not, uninstall all packages starting with “Nokia big screen….” separately.
2. Install Nokia Big Screen from Ovi via http://store.ovi.com/content/106490?clickSource=search&pos=1

FA136073: Why can’t I download Symbian Anna application packages (Installation fails)?
The reason for this is most likely a problem with existing QT files on your phone. Please try the following:
A) Solution1 – especially if you have “Nokia bubbles” on your phone
- Install the following QT files on the C: drive of your phone in exactly this sequence
* http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtSA4.7.301.sisx
*http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtMobilitySA1.1.301.sis
- While you install above QT files you MUST keep the following things in mind:
*Installation must be done to C: drive of the phone. If you by mistake select E: drive, you can cancel the installation and re-install again. If E: drive installation is complete, you can re-install one more time and select C: drive for installation.
*Installation order must be met. First it has to be QT (QtSA4.7.301.sisx).
- Open the software update client on your phone via Menu>Applications>(Tools>)Softwareupdate
- Select the shown Symbian Anna application packages and start the update
B) Solution2:
- Launch the File manager on your phone (Typically found: Menu -> Applications -> Office -> File mgr.)
- Choose Options -> Find -> E: Mass memory -> Root folder
- In the “Find text:” window, type “*.sisx” (without double quote) and the select find.
- It will display many sisx files starting with “TMP”. Example: TMP3efa4.sisx.
- Now select Options -> Mark multiple items and now mark all sisx starting with “TMP”.
- After marking them select Options -> Delete and delete all of them.
- Now tap the Clock on your homescreen and change the date of your phone to next day (via Settings). For example, if todays date is 6th Nov, then set the date to 7th Nov. This is needed to clear the software update cache and make new updates visible.
- Open the “SW update” application.
- Select the shown Symbian Anna application packages and start the update

@Blemieux #22
Me too am unable to install v9.23(6) after installing v9.23(5). "Unable to install. Component is built-in"
Tried everything you mentioned on #22, didn't help. My camera settings is screwed up too. Everytime i enter settings in the camera app the whole app just crashes. Please direct me with a solution to fix this. Thanks.
OK I have solved the problem for me and all is working fine. PlayTo and the Camera beta (and Store apps) all load fine now
Did a another post Anna *#7370# reset waiting the worrying very long time again for the white screen to disappear and the phone to restart. That did it.
I did the Hard Reset on my N8 and installed all the Anna updates. I was able to install the new version of the Big Screen, Nokia Maps and Live View but still unable to install the Camera update.
Any ideas?
@dmirrha:
Did you leave the phone untouched to allow the phone to restart itself after keying in the *#7370# code?
Mine sits for about 6 minutes with a white screen before restarting itself so much longer than other phones and PDAs I have had.
And I think that may have been the background to my own troubles because my last phone would lock up and never restart itself even if left for hours after a reset but a power on after a few minutes worked fine to get it going. I cannot recall but with the N8 when I first reset it I may have done the same thinking it had locked up too - in which case it would have been all my own fault.
I unistalled all Qt components that fixed it. After installing camera update I re-installed all Qt Component updates
Hi. Still getting the error so must be doing something wrong. Can someone post a step by step idiot's guide as to how to get this to instal? Thanks.
I found these Qt components and uninstalled them all:
Qt AdConnector
qtcomponentsplugin_1_0
Qt Quick components for Symbian
After that I did 3-button 8 s. reboot.
Still couldn't install the camera update after this..
Same here, uninstall all Qt components - no result (
Moderator joined from Camera update for Nokia N8/Discussion/Can't install
I can't install it because the 'component' (in dutch) is already built in.. :(
Moderator joined from Camera update for Nokia N8/Discussion/Update failed, due to lack of Anna?
The update could not be installed on my device due to an error along the line of a 'built-in component'. I have already uninstalled every application I am aware of which uses the camera. However, I do not have the Anna update installed as of now. Does anyone know whether that might prevent the installation process?
Yes, unfortunately if you don't have symbian Anna yet you cannot use this application. "Compatability: This camera update is for the Nokia N8 with Symbian Anna"
Too bad then. Thanks for telling me, though.
i have ANNA and the same error
OK, problem solved by uninstalling ALL beta software (maps 3.08 and others), and uninstalling symbian components (left only ovi store, ALL other uninstall) thats work for me. After that install cameraapp 9.23(5) - then reboot - then install cameraapp update 9.23(6) - then reboot - then install all back by ovi store, betalabs and SW update.
Glad to hear you got sorted. I guess it was one of those things you uninstalled, my money is on the betalabs software.
Is there a link to the first update? I can't be bothered to uninstal everything but liked the interface on the initial download and could at least get this to work. Thanks.
Could somebody (nokia?) provide the previous (5) version, since it was a significant improvement already with the improved UI and caf in macrovideo? I have so many betalabs apps that it will take too long to uninstall and reinstall them all, especially if the camera update won't work after that.. The previous version installed without problems, and after trying that and then having to go back to the old camera version has made me feel a little empty inside ;)
A silly question: if a component is already installed, why cannot the installer force-overwrite the component and go on with the installation?
Well I tried solution FA136048 and solution FA136073 (A & B) as suggested in post #22 even although I had a perfectly fine Anna installation.
None of the above re-solved the camera update issue and, as I indicated previously, my working Big Screen will not re-install despite trying various re-installation methods - OTA directly to my N8, via Ovi Store on my laptop and via Ovi Suite from downloaded file - all methods result in the same error on the N8 "Unable to install a protected application from a supplier that is not trusted". Ovi Suite error code: 2153775105. Clearly there has to be something wrong with Smart Installer if it does not trust an application from Nokia or is this error code just nonsense?
Nokia Play to also failed to re-install - it goes through the whole installation process and then cancels the installation just before it has finalised it. The last time I saw this occur was before I updated to Qt 4.7.3 (pre-Anna).
I have since tried un-installing all of my beta lab apps but this didn't work for me. I stopped short of un-installing all my apps in Installed Apps though.
A directive from the beta labs guys on a safe step-by-step procedure to resolve this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I have the same problem pcrowder!
I'm trying to re-install Nokia Big Screen, and all I get is "Unable to install a protected application from a supplier that is not trusted".
Is very frustrating.
And I have also the same problem. Play To I managed to re-install. I don't know how but 3rd time when I tried to re-install it I managed.
I'm getting the "Unable to install a protected application from a supplier that is not trusted" for the Big Screen and TV Digital. Does anyone know how to fix this?
So? is going to be a fix update for this problem at installation ??
have the same problem for camera update, now i regret uninstalling it(which i accidentally did :( ), Nokia are you listening???, kindly provide us with a solution.
Nokia, please post a solution to this problem. Every time I try to install it, it gives me the same built-in component error. Why don't you post a new version of this app? I had the previous update without the 30fps and it worked fine. I un-installed all my beta apps, all my camera apps and still not working...
Nokia, help us!!
We are very sorry for not being helpful, but we have extremely hard time to reproduce this problem (even if has been reported by so many users). It seems to be related to the SW you installed to the device and the sequence in which those were installed, but we just can't find which combination of SW creates this conflict.
At the moment, the only advice we can give to solve this problem is to format your device, with the *#7370# code. We realize that this isn't a fix, only a workaround, as this will erase everything on your device. Use with care.
Ok, are you sure that, if I format my device, this camera update will finally work?
And Im a big fan of PlayTo and Big Screen. Which one should be installed first? The camera update, PlayTo or Big Screen? \
I will be very happy, if you can tell me this! :)
hi, why not evrybdy of us posts the list of applications we have on our phone, this may help in identifying the common apps we have, and may be we can get a solution for this( i know its quite tedious, but for the sake of CAF and 30fps, i hope nobdy minds ;) )
So here is my list of apps ( bt please excuse as i cant tell the exact order of their installation )

Blemieux: Can you please just give us the possibility to download the previous (5) version, as that installed without problems and it already contained the most crucial improvements in the UI and CAF macrovideo!
Seems like you are not able to fix this current issue in a timely manner, so please make the previous version available again! That would solve the problem for me until Belle arrives.
after uninstalling version 5 i cant install it again... It says that component built in-like it does with version 6 update...i will post my app list and sw version later see if that helps to fix the problem....
Camera app will not install... OVI Suite reports "There was a problem installing the file. Error Code: 2148532241"
Any help would be useful (yes, I have Anna installed)
same problem, unable to install: "...build in..." I removed big screen and play to an camera pro - without succes....
I had the same issue. I removed big screen, play to, Connectivity Analyzer and Nokia Maps with Weather, following the instructions for removing Nokia Maps to roll back to the previous version. Restarted the phone and was then presented with the Anna updates again (though I had already upgraded to Anna). I installed these, restarted the phone and was able to then install the Camera Update. I presume that the Anna updates were there again as I didn't have a version of Nokia Maps installed or I had removed a part of Anna. After installing the Camera Update and restarting the phone, I was able to reinstall big screen, play to, Connectivity Analyzer and Nokia Maps Beta.
I got the problem fixed as well! All in all it took about an hour.
First I removed these apps:
(Had previously removed Nokia Big Screen)
Connectivity Analyzer
Play To (removed it from the apps menu, couldn't find it in the applications manager)
Then I removed these 3.08 map-apps according to the roll-down instructions (http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/ovi-maps-for-mobile-v3-08/more_info#Insta...)
-Nokia Maps ODML
-Nokia Kartat (Nokia Maps)
-Nokia Kartat -asennusohjelma pre-release (Nokia Maps Installer)
-Nokia Maps Engine
-Nokia Maps Smart Installer pre-release (Version 3.08(112))
-ODML Commons Repository (Version 3.08(76))
-ODML Commons Repository (Version 1.00(0))
(Had two versions of ODML, removed them both)
-Weather
-Check In
-Check In Agent
-Check In Widget
-Create a Place
-Drive
-Map and Navigation
-Headless Map and Navigation
-Map Apps
-Maps Settings Plugin
-Oppaat (Guides)
(Couldn't find "Check In Data" or anything corresponding in Finnish)
Restarted the phone
(ps. removing apps in Symbian (Anna) is a real pain, extremely slow and frustrating process. I can only remove one app at the time, can't select multiple apps for removal, and cannot continue removal from the same view but am taken back one step on the menu and have to always go back to the beginning of the list of installed apps and then find the same location again, and then remove another one. Also the lag/waiting time is really long when loading the list of apps (17 seconds) and after an app is removed (15 seconds). Is there any way to make this process more user friendly?)
Checked for SW-updates and installed them:
-Symbian Anna 2/2 (9204 kt) -> notification about maps -> clicked ok
-Ovi Kauppa (Ovi Store, 1119 kt)
Restarted the phone
Installed the camera update succesfully (FINALLY)!
Restarted the phone, and the NEW CAMERA UPDATE WORKS!
YES, I have been eagerly waiting for to get back to making macro videos of nature and now I finally can again!
hi jussi.lyytinen , its great to learn tht u have finally solved the problem, can you please tell me how much data it required to re-install the maps(and the other updates), as i am on a limited bandwidth here, thnx in advance :)
YEAH-im happy now!!! I just uninstalled nokia maps with weather and then did anna software update 2/2 and restarted phone and now i succesfully installed camera update 6...PS!!! I DIDNT remove any other beta app, also i didnt remove nokia bigscreen.... i just uninstalled nokia maps beta with weather !!!!!!!!! and restarted phone and then installed anna software update 2/2 again and restarted again and it worked !!!
tinkesh_bansal: Well I think the Symbian Anna 2/2 (9204 kb) update has the 3.06 Maps with the size of 9 MB. But I don't know about the 3.08 Maps because it uses the smart installer and I don't know how much data it downloads. I would suspect that it is some what the same as 3.06, so around 10 MB. But you might want to ask this from the "3.08 Maps" -section..
Of course the biggest data consumer is the offline-maps. I have many countries offline, so I downloaded about 1000 MB of map-data.. I hope you have a WLAN-connection available for downloading the map-files.
@Kutsikas15:
Same here. I also just uninstalled Nokia Maps beta with weather, updated Anna software 2/2, restarted and after that installed succesfully camera update 6.
Really?? If I have to uninstall ALL my NON-CAMERA apps.... really?? Then the guys at the Beta Labs are just doing a shitty job by releasing this (EVEN to the beta users).
If your programming threads are so entangled... maybe you should not be releasing this as BETA, or even ALPHA, or even EXPERIMENTAL.
Ugh..
(and YES I do run an R&D lab and I would NEVER expose someone/anyone to such half-baked ...)
Thx for nothing
I can also confirm that the solution posted by c172sh and further detailed by jussi.lyytinen also worked for me, many thanks!!
Zurich31: I understand your frustration as I was thinking about the same thing. But to be fair, I think if 34055 have installed the update and only 43 of them have reported to have this bug, then it is quite a small amount (0,1%).
I will rather have this update now even after some struggling if the option is waiting for the next OS update (belle) which might take a while..
jussi, you cant take it like this-only small ammount of poeple are really giving feedback-so you cant actually make "download-bug report" comparison. But anyway, theres something wrong with communication between nokia maps 3.08 and camera update-so everyone-you dont need to uninstall any other beta app-other than nokia maps 3.08 beta!!! Just uninstall nokia maps 3.08 beta and reinstall Anna software update 2/2!
Thanks for the solution guys, I confirm completely removing Maps 3.08 then installing the update fixes the issue.
You can then re-install Maps 3.08
Thanx for the solution. Worked for me
Tried all you suggest, uninstall Nokia maps and weather but tha anna software update 2/2 shown on my Nokia ovi suite will not install keeps saying (package is faulty) if I check for updates on phone it says this is installed OK any ideas.
Have the same problem, unable to install! Waiting for a fix that doesn't require hours of work, I'm too tired...
You might want to try the instructions we gave for Play To application in similar situation:
"If you faced installing problems and you have "ODML commons repository" installed in Settings... Application installer, try removing that. It's a part of some old Maps Beta that stays on system persistently. Re-install Maps if needed."
That did the trick for Play To and I suspect the same issue is preventing Camera installation.
--Mikko
You legend! It works! Thanks.
Fab,fab.fab,All working,Thank you.
Ha! Works for me too. I had it installed twice. Removed them both and camera update now installs fine. Maps (3.08) still works too ;)
Thank you !
Thanx! Removing the ODML thing did the magic!
Thanks msla for that. Worked first time
Thanks, Worked for me.
