None of the contact applications (Phonebook Contacts, Conversation, Chat etc) work after the Nokia Contacts Service Support Package is removed. I have followed the installation instructions and it still doesnot seem to work. I had to reinstall the Nokia Contacts Service Support Package before I could get my phone to work again

From the description of your steps, you did not mention if you installed the Phonebook Extension Manager included with the E95 download prior to installing Conversatons? When you uninstall Nokia Contacts Service Support Package, you need to replace it with Phonebook Extension Manager version associated with your device's download of Conversations.

i followed the instructions and installed the phonebook manager, on my N95 8GB all the features are working (normal phonebook, conversations)
But if i connect my phone to the pc, nokia pc suite says, that i have to reinstall some components and then it tries to install the "Nokia Contacts Service Support Package" again. And all the features in the "nokia communication center" (like view the contacts and messages) are not working and it always tries to install the "Nokia Contacts Service Support Package"
I think it wouldn't be good if i reinstall "Nokia Contacts Service Support Package"? Or should I?

From my experience the problem is from the Phonebook Manager. I have Contacts on ovi and Conversation working fine without the Phonebook manager.
So how should I get this to work?
I followed the instructions to the letter and what I got is that I can't use the normal "Contacts", nor the "Converstaion" app (both just wont' launch).
By removing "Phonebook Extention Manager" I can restore access to the normal "Contacts" app, but "Converstaion" still won't launch.
the way I got it to work is as follows
make sure you uninstall Contacts, Conversation, Phonebook Extention Manage, Nokia Contacts Service Support Packager and Internet Support Package
then reinstall nternet Support Package, conversations and Contacts Ovi
Reboot your phone and it should work
I had the same problems as most reported here (couldn't launch contacts or conversation).
I uninstalled conversation and phonebook extension manager, then re-installed Nokia Contacts Service Support Package.
This got contacts working again. While there I noticed a Windows Live "Tab" in the contacts app.
So, I uninstalled Windows Live, removed Nokia Contacts Service Support Package, re-installed the phonebook extension manager and then conversation.
Now it's working. I haven't tried re-installing Windows Live yet (and maybe I won't as I am now using Fring anyway)
I just noticed that I am only seeing the Received messages (no outgoing messages) which sort of limits the usefulness of the application.
Anyone seen it or got any suggestions?

I see multiple threads on this (big) issue. I even started one myself. What I don't see are developers from Nokia to help or solve any of these issues. Doesn't suit them well...shame on Nokia Development; it's a Nokia Beta site forum...
I saw in a previous reply in this thread someone mention a Windows Live Messenger tab in Contacts. I also have a version of this app on my phone. You can download this app via a Nokia utility on the phone itself. Has this Windows Live Messenger version 1.1.9000 app been tested by Nokia Development together with Conversation? Has MickeySnot developed this WLM app according to Symbian guidelines?

Tip from a happy N95-3 Conversation and Ovi contact user. Uninstall everything. Install Conversation first, then Ovi Contacts and KEEP YOUR SMS INBOX CLEAN by hitting the left soft key and choosing "Mark/Unmark All" and the either "MOVE" the SMS messages to a new folder or delete them. Conversation will still keep a thread regardless and will load faster and avoid performance issues if you follow my lead.
