I want to be able to view the whole message in the conversation view, the scrolling is just annyoing the slow and opening a message sends me to the regular message view and then I never really go bak to conversations.
Make the font a little smaller and fit the whole message in the conversation view.

they should put an effect that when you select a message it streches out so you can see whole text. this would be nice and useful.
I agree about the effect to load the whole text. At least the last message must be opened and marked as read by default, immediately after being loaded in conversations as the app is opened/loaded. You get the idea, open, then read, no more button presses just start typing a reply.

Simply implement a normal chat design (with small fonts). Introduce display options to the user like font size, number of messages to load, auto-purge, and the like.
As for MMS, no need to expand. A simple 'click here to view' (in default app) would suffice.
The current implementation is already ok except for the user interface trying so hard to deviate from what works - the simple chat style. For the developers I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the OS. If it is then maybe creating a custom database replacing the current one used by the default messaging app is acceptable -- at least for me. Afterall, it is meant to replace or be an alternative of the messaging app once it graduates from beta.
I wish we could have these features in the next release. Keep up the great job, developers :)
