What is Gig Finder
Gig Finder lets you search for live music events, purchase tickets directly from your mobile, and get relevant recommendations based on your music tastes and location.
Connectivity
Gig Finder uses the default connection settings of your device for data connection.
To add, remove or organize access points, select the device Settings and Connectivity > Destinations > Internet.
Gig Finder will use the connection with the highest priority. If WIFI connection is lost, Gig Finder will connect to the network using secondary connection method.
Search
Select Search to find gigs by artist, genre, city, venue, date, and/or date range.
To search for specific artist or music, enter an artist or a genre name in the What field. To search for events at a specific location or venue, enter a location in the Where field. Use the calendar to select a date. To search a range of dates, select the start date, scroll the
calendar if necessary, and then select the end date. You can leave any of the fields empty to expand search results.
Select the Search button under the Search fields. The results are displayed in an order based on relevance and proximity of the date.
Note that results will only show artists currently on tour in countries supported by Gig Finder. To get notifications when artists not currently listed go on tour, search and add artists from your Profile search. (Menu>Profile)
Select a Gig
Select a Gig to get more information about it. You can:
• Tickets Available. Buy NOW - Compare ticket prices and contact a ticket vendor by phone or web.
• Save Event - Add the event in your events and Calendar.
• See on Map - View the event venue in Maps, add the location to Favorites, and get drive/walk directions to the event.
• Share - Add the Gig to Facebook (automatically creates EVENT page in Facebook as well) or send the Gig information to your friends using SMS or E-mail.
• Description tab - Tells you information about the artist (when available)
• Artist Tab – Select Star icon to add an artist to your profile. This helps Gig Finder alert you of events where your favorites are performing, and recommend you more events with similar artists.
Select Go to Store icon (when available in your country) to browse & download songs by the artist from Ovi Music
Recommended
The Suggestions tab displays events that match your music the music you listen to on your device, artists you have added to your profile and your location. Relevancy indicator tells you how well recommendations fits on your music profile and location.
Select a recommended event to view detailed event Description, view the Artist performing at the event, add the event to your calendar, buy tickets or share the event with your friends.
The Venues tab shows the places where the live event is held. Select a venue to view upcoming events at the venue, or a description of the venue. Select the star to list the venue in your favorites. Your favorite venues are always displayed first in the list of venues even when your location changes, so you can keep track of what’s going on at your favorite places.
The Gigs Here tab shows music events happening near future on your current location. This is useful when travelling to see gigs happening close to you.
My Gigs
Select My Gigs to see events you have saved which are listed according to the proximity of the date. To remove an event from your events and your calendar, select the event and select Remove Event.
Edit your Profile
Recommended events are based on the music you play on your device and have added to your profile. To edit the profile and get suggestions that match your taste more accurately, you can edit the list of artists in your profile.
Select Menu and Profile. Enter an artist name in the field and select Search . Select an artist in the search results to add the artist into your profile. This will list arists even if they are not currently on tour. To remove an artist, select X.
Get Event Alerts
When Gig Finder is running in the background on your device, you can get alerts of new events matching your profile and location.
To modify the alert settings, select Menu >Options and from the following:
• Run application on startup - Start Gig Finder automatically on background when you turn on your device.
• Show alerts on the home screen - Display alerts of new events on the home screen of your device.
To leave Gig Finder running in the background instead of exiting the application, select the “-“ icon at the top right of the page.
You can also add Gig Finder as a widget to your mobile home screen on supported devices (like N97and N97 mini)
Clearing Cache
If you have posted event information to Facebook previously from your mobile and selected the Remember Me option, select Menu, Options and Clear Facebook credentials to remove your login information.
