Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started:
1. Download & Install Gig Finder to your compatible Nokia device
2. Open Gig Finder (Usually installed to APPLICATIONS folder) to start using.

How to Search
1. Click the SEARCH icon
2. Type in your search criteria:
a) WHAT (Artist/ Genre): Note that only artists currently playing in the supported countries will appear.  Leave blank if you want to see more results from Where (City/ Venue) search.
b) WHERE (City/ Venue): Type in the city or venue you want to see.  Leave blank if you want to see more results of What (Artist/Genre) search.
c) WHEN (Date/ Dates): Slide the calendar to the date you want to search for.  If you want to search a date range, touch the starting day then scroll to the ending day.  Dates in a range will be highlighted.  Leave blank if you want to see more resulsts for What and/or Where searches.

Use Case Example:
You are in Las Vegas from the 6 to the 10th of January.   Want to see who is playing?
a) Leave WHAT field blank.
b) Type in "Las Vegas" in the WHERE field.
c) Under WHEN, Touch January 6 and then scroll to 10 January and touch that to highlight 6-10 January date range
d) Touch the SEARCH BUTTON below the search criteria.  (NOTE: Clicking the SEARCH ICON at the bottom of the screen will clear your search fields and start over)
e) A list of live music events should appear.  Scroll down to find something you might like. 
(If you are in Vegas, go see Bette Midler.  If she is too much woman for your weak heart, then try Donny & Marie.  Both are sure to entertain in different ways) 
f) A specific Artist Event page will open which shows time/place and allows you to buy tickets, add event to your calendar, see location of event on Maps, and/or Share the event on Facebook, SMS, or Email.  You can also see DESCRIPTION for a short bio or click ARTISTS to all the Artist to your music profile to be notified of other events from that artist and make your recommendations even better.
g) Touch the SEARCH ICON (bottom of the page) to clear the search and look again.

Hint:
If you know an artist is on tour, type in the name to WHAT, but leave everything else blank to get the most results.
If you get too many results for an open date search, try adding a date range.

What are the Recommendations / Suggestions
Recommendations improve when you add artists to your Music Profile (Click the "Add Artist to Profile" star icon under ARTISTS tab on your various Artist Event Pages) and as you continue to use the Gig Finder. 

You can also add artists who many not currently be on tour.  Click the MENU icon (top right of screen) and choose PROFILE.  Type in the name of the artist in the Profile SEARCH box, and Search.  Most artists who have content in Nokia Music Store/ Ovi Store can be found.  (Includes artists from all four major labels and a huge selection of majors and independents)

What do I do if I get a "No connection availble" error?
If  you get a “No connection available” error, most likely your default connection is unable to transfer data. Go to SETTINGS>CONNECTIVITY>DESTINATIONS>INTERNET to change  the priority of your default access point or set up another connection (like WI-FI)  

Why do I have to enter the city for WHERE search?  Doesnt Gig Finder automatically know where I am?
Search results are based on relevancy, but allow you the flexibility to choose the city or venue to search.  The GIGS HERE tab (from the RECOMMENDED navigation) automatically shows you gigs based on your location)
