Am using MS Vista and have copied Lame.exe to audiobooks folder - app recognises that MP3 is avialble.
When I try and encode get:
Unable to open WAV file
You OK this and get the last Error box that says
ERROR (-301)in resampling and level adjustment
Processing terminated
Currently have to covert all MP3 files to WAV to work.
Try to run the audiobook with administrator rights (properties->compability->execute program as admin)
That worked for me and I'm using Vista as well
Hi. Dont seem to be able to post new issue, so have had to tack this onto existing report. Hopefully someone who can help sees this.
My error message, which I regularly get when trying to convert MP3 files is
" Error: Input files having sampling rates below 16kHz is not supported. Process terminated"
Once I OK this, I get the following additional message:
"Error: Unable to close temporary file tmp0.wav"

I also had a problem when trying to convert an mp3 to a nokia audiobook, what I did was download an older version of lame and that worked.
fivepercent is right. Run the program with administrator Rights and the issue is solved. I use Windows 7.
