Suggestion for Nokia Beta Labs

Hi Ilkka,
I saw that few month ago you made a fine option about all post by the user.
I would like to ask you if it is possible have possibility to divide by the forum and by typologies.
For example I would like to read all post about the bugs of ovi maps for mobile written by mbrett. At the moment I see all his posts ordered by date, it is hard found them quickly because this amazing man wrote more of 1500 posts.
Or could you give me some tips to use better the search functions?

Maybe the other option would be to add an xtra field to the advanced search along with an option to select a forum. Something I been hoping for for a long time now.

My ideals for the advanced search would be a couple more tick boxes for "Discussion" / "Review" / "Bug Report" / "New Suggestion" and pickable list of Forum Names. as suggested by Navio1973 adding an author / username input field could possibly be added here too.

What are your thoughts Ilkka?

The extra options for the advanced search as mbrett wrote should be very useful.

And I completely agree that the advanced search needs an update. And I think I recall promising something on that front a while back, sorry for not being able to deliver anything yet.

We've concentrated our efforts heavily on an internal service this fall, not being able to do much on Beta Labs yet. The last weeks of this year, we have quite a lot of things, hard requirements, to do still, so I can't promise this to fit into the schedule this year. However, I do agree this being an extremely important feature to improve. Hopefully early 2010.

I'll straight up ask teemule about adding these four things:
- feedback type
- application name
- author
What it would mean, etc, to get things rolling. Unfortunately however, as I said, we most likely won't be able to make the improvements this year...

Dear Ilkka,

A lot of Betalabs contributor wannabes are without suitable Nokia mobiles, including me. Sometime I just want to get a new Nokia phone, but looking at my pocket money, I just have to think twice.
I would like to see some emulators that can be downloaded from Betalabs, which can run certain Betalabs apps. Also I have seen remote Nokia available in the market (something like Nokia Remote Professional), very much similar to remote PC. Thus I suggest Betalabs can put up a link for a trial using the remote Nokia and we can try the apps. on a real Nokia device remotely.
After temporarily test run on those emulators and remote Nokia, users can decide which Nokia devices are suitable for users to purchase and then Betalabs should be able to get more quality contributors, both on real Nokia devices and virtual Nokia devices contributors.

I like your thinking. Something like this would be awesome. And not just in Beta Labs' scope. I'd love to have a full working emulator in nokia.com, where you could actually virtually try all the devices.
Realistically speaking, I'm not sure who and how this could be achieved. Emulators are never the actual thing (or so far at least I haven't seen a perfect emulator). I'm afraid hooking up remote devices would also be very unfeasible.

Like I said, I do like the idea a lot. But there really isn't a perfect solution available for us at the moment. Thanks for a nice and novel idea though!

Hi navio1973, wow, this is cool! I've never expect the existence of this interesting link! Those are not ordinary emulators, those are actually remote accessible devices, directly from the Nokia phones. Great find!
