"By name": Well, what name? Real name? Ovi username? Friendview profile name? All of these?
Again, syncing with Contacts on Ovi and Phonebook is important here so the request could be done that way (i.e. just email or SMS using phonebook entries).

We're looking into location triggers like friends within your vicinity. It's absolutely an interesting feature.
About the "Add/Search Friend" Dialogue in the mobile client:
For "Add", it would be your friend's exact 'Nokia Account' username, which is the same for Ovi and Friend View since both use a Nokia Account.
For "Search", the search is against these data fields:
- any of these Nokia Account data fields: (1) username (which is identical to Friend View username as above), (2) first name, (3) last name
- Friend View 'Screen Name'
The actual search & comparison logic are a bit more complicated to describe here simply, but those are the data fields searched against.
