Image Exchange could not register online account. In Messaging I can see that reg SMS was sent but SMS status is pending forever. Looks like IMEX server never get the reg message.
IMEX app says that something went wrong while registering account.
I've tried this several times. I'm using Softbank Japan SIM.

Yes, Japan is not listed on TycTec's list. Just wish there's some other method to register. No real reason use SMS anway, why not just use data connection?

why do we have to send/receive SMSs if we're supposedly able to get on to the internet via GPRS/WiFi?

@speedgrapher: SMS is used for phone number verification. A lot of the functionality depends on it, such as your initial user name for Nokia Image Exchange server.

@jkaasala: I understand you may want to verify the phone number, but if there's no way yo send/receive the SMS you could be able to use a user-entered mobile number, and the imei which the software can read (and reads, I saw the SMS it wants to send :))
In any case, please please please add support for movistar/chile! I really want to try this application.... and as it looks there's some people in entel/chile that's interested, too :)
how about a simple register via the NIE website?
where the user enters the number and has to verify via email?
I understand that you need to verify the number but cant you also verify via email?
or is it more complicated than that?
ps i still cant sync contacts via ovi or receive the nokia messaging application
as i cant receive texts from the nokia server

you can get that from tyntec,com, in the coverage page, but as I've seen, there's not been any changes in the last whole month...
I'm having the same problem.
I am using the ImageExchange App from the Netherlands, using an operator that has 'full coverage' according to the PDF file on Tyntec.com. My phone (n95 firmware v31) does send an sms to +354573950006, but I do not get a reply.
I do get the following reply from the app
"Registration failed. Something went wrong while registering your Image Exchange account. Please try again by selecting online from options menu .... "
I have tried registering over 3G and Wifi connections of which I'm sure both are working.
I've tried creating an account several times over a couple of days. I would really like to get this app working!

I must have tried this 30 times, god knows how much these texts will cost! Will nokia reimburse me? I doubt it! Cannot connect through wifi or 3g. Even though there's nothing wrong with either. I'm on o2 uk which was listed as unrestricted now has been removed from the list. What is the problem?? O2 is the UKs biggest carrier.

Craigio: We are sorry that there is no support for UK O2 registration at the moment.
This is really because our SMS-gateway provider doesn't support it for the time being.
We are working on adding support for more operators, including UK O2, it has just unfortunately taken longer than we expected. This is on our short term list of improvements.
