I have noticed that when I have rotated an image it shows correctly in the single image view, but in it's original orienation in the multi-image view. This view does not appear to update when the image orientation is changed.
Not sure if this bug could be related to the linked bug below:

Your observation is correct. Small thumbnails are never updated when image orientation changes. This missing functionality will be added in a future release of the application.
