I thought that this would be the first feature you would have implemented in the update. But all the images are still queued up to be uploaded. Why do all the images we take have to be uploaded! I don't want to upload my personal pics.
Have to keep it offline all the time.
Well... if you read the overview before you downloaded it, you would have realized that the purpose of the app is to "provide a seamless integration of a mobile image gallery application and a corresponding web-service."
In other words, that's what the app is meant to do - upload pics to the site. They still remain private - only you can see your pics, unless you make them public.
Eug, I think it should still be up to the user to decide which images he/she would like to upload to public server and which not.

But just think about it, of all the images being uploaded, how many of them do the users actually want to upload. In today's recession + global warming time, think of the amount of bandwidth + resources you would be saving. I know compared to the actualy usage, the saving wouldn't amount to much, but its a waste after all. And the solution is too simple to be not implemented. For me, i usually take 2 3 pics for each shot i actually want to take, delete the rest and keep just one. Why should i be required to upload all the shots online!
Like alsiladka, i too take 2-3 shots and keep what i consider to be the better of the three.
With this in mind i would like to see something like a share folder created that you can copy or move (copy preferred) images you would like to upload into.
The share folder could be set up to either upload as soon as an image is moved to it or for those still paying through the nose for mobile internet, an option to upload the contents of the folder upon next connection to there home wireless network.

Thank you for all the feedback! As Nokia Image Exchange is an experimental gallery application and service, we made some design decisions early on to experiment something new. One of these decisions was to try out whether it would actually be feasible to make a service where all user's pictures are uploaded, with the current 3G connections available. We fully acknowledged that this is not what all people want, and that in the end we need to support different models as well, but we wanted to have this as a starting point.
Some benefits of this approach are that you don't need to worry about if an image is uploaded or not, you can easily get your images to a pc by downloading a package from the web, and so on.
In the first update we wanted to fix some bugs and optimize the system. Though, we are working on new features at the same time, and we are listening to your feedback, so stay tuned and you shouldn't be disappointed.

Glad to see the NIE team finally coming to the forum. Please make sure you guys make this small swtich in the next update. A simple On / Off option would be fine too.
