i had install the new java runtime.. i install it, waiting for the conversion (10 conversion) then after conversion, i'd restart my phone. then i turn on my phone, all my java applications dissapeared! then, i wan't to install java application, but, installation failed. it said "Unable to install application. It sounds like database has been corrupted for some reason.
There is no workaround for this issue.
You have only two options:
- revert back to original Java (uninstall this beta) and continue using original java
- or format the phone (*#7370#) and reinstall this beta + all the apps
You should not reinstall beta unless you format the phone first (*#7370#) because that corrupted database file remains there even if you remove the beta package.
i saw this bug report and i have the same problem with the java runtime 2.0 ,
with my nokia 5800m v21
and i want to know how to get my old java without doing a hard reset?
You should still be able to uninstall JRT 2.0 beta normally via Settings -> Application Manager -> Installed Apps without hard reset. Once JRT 2.0 is removed, restart the device and then old java is in use.
Restoring factory settings (*#7370#) is only needed if you want to reinstall this beta sometime later.
