Nokia N9 is such a great phone, why are there dozens of Nokia Suite's cool functionalities missing? I totally understand Nokia engineers want to sync calendar, contacts and emails with the cloud, but why not let users choose?
I think there are certain things missing in Link that I really liked in Suite and miss badly. The list of my aching questions includes:
- Why can not I sync my SMS text messages with my PC?
- Why cannot I send SMS from my computer? It is retarded to have to use the phone's touchscreen when your pc keyboard is at hand...
- Where's my bluetooth connection with phone to send files and sync with PC?
- I understand I can sync with Google or mail for exchange, but there's virtually no possibility to directly sync with Ms Office (which i use most). If you don't have MfE account, your N9 is rendered useless in terms of syncing calendar and contacts to PC.
- Why can't I install apps from Nokia Ovi Store via my pc? It's a burden to my internet connection ($) every time I download an app.
- Why is there no maps uploading functionality (unless your internet plan is unlimited, you will be drained after downloading maps for Europe.)
- I know there's WiFi hotspot functionality, but it drains battery sooo bad. Why not bring back the bluetooth or over-the-usb internet modem?
- There's no to-do-list nor notes syncing with Outlook (not that i know of). I used to sync notes quite often on my N8+Suite+Outlook. I miss it really bad in my N9...
What I linke in Nokia link are:
- Simplicity
- Nice interface
- Easy syncing of videos and music to and from PC (IMHO much better than in Suite, as there is no re-syncing of videos to my PC)
People of Nokia, don't get me wrong. I really admire the phone and love the design and material quality, but please pay more attention to what people need.
N9 is such a great phone and I'm sure such improvements are not THAT hard to introduce for Nokia engineers.
