I've noticed that, on the N95-1 at least, the app does not switch on the powerful led light that the camera uses for focussing and as a flash illuminator.
Increased brightness will produce a better image quality and greater depth of field, as well as a brighter image.
So - please add to this app this facility to switch on this light by default.
This would also help in low light situations.
Hi Nokia Beta Labs team, I also agree with geoffg.ovi and mbrett. I tried the magnifier for the first time today and thought of the exact same feature.
I've an additional feature enhancement request: Option to use the Flash/Illumination for zero light reading (ie. night time reading, etc)
Sure it may drain the battery a bit but could come in handy for reading in low-light situation (as mbrett mentioned) but also create options for other applications (ie. closeup inspection, flashlight, etc).
Hi leonardchen. Thanks for the great feedback. Indeed we had left the flash light idea out because of battery drain issues and also because when you are performing close-up (macro) focus, the image gets "overbrighted" (you can try it on the camera application). :-) But as you said, we could add a feature where the user could enable "low-light" reading, like night time reading.
