Hi,

I'd suggest talking with customer service about this issue.

Nokia Maps 2.0 has graduated from Beta Labs so the team is not actively following this discussion. Also, if I'm not mistaken the Nokia E71x is customized with an AT&T Navigator, so that may have something to do with your question.

And it seems I have to buy a license to use the direction function. I don't have it even the bills are paied by our company, because I am just a occasional user. The route was shown on the map but no my current location. If I select my current location, I lost the route. Which means I can not really use it for direction at all with license.

I used google map on the device, which is very easy to set starting and end position and route, together with current position. It is very easy to use during driving, just keep an eye on it from time to time. The price for GPRS data is all right if I just use need it several times a year. Why should I buy a time depended license?

Comment: At the moment the best way by sigma421 for Discussion: Contribute to Maps Data

At the moment the best way is to offer information to NAVTEQ or TeleAtlas (the two companies which supply the map data Nokia maps runs on, NAVTEQ is now owned by Nokia)

You can submit reports at

http://mapinsight.teleatlas.com/mapfeedback/index.php - TeleAtlas

http://mapreporter.navteq.com/dur-web-external/secured/submitDur.do?userType=CONSUMER&language=en - Navteq

However these are more for changes to road information than local info. I would suggest putting this down as a suggestion in the Maps 3.0 forum as this is the version being developed. Personally I could see Maps on Ovi as being a great place to build up a database of local shops, restaurants and other facilities.

Using the search function yields a lot of incorrect and incomplete information.

I'd like to improve the quality of information that Maps produces and develop it into a better product.

Bugreport: Maps 2.0, totally confused in Boston, MA USA.... by jim_marshall

I'm using Maps 2.0 (wk 45 b03), I have a 6 month license for the navigation feature. Last night I had a need to actually use the navigation feature (thus far I have just been using it on trips that I already know - mainly to see if it suits my needs so I can decide to pay for it or not). As I was using the system it seemed to get totally lost while I was in the city of Boston (Mass, USA). I was on a street, it had me take a right, a left and another right (in essence got me back on the street I had already been on). Like the map system thought the road ended or was interrupted.

I suppose that isn't too bad, except I got a little further up the road and the system thought I went "off road" (which you can't really do in Boston). I was on a fairly well known street in Boston (Kneeland & staurt), and again when it finally figured out where I was it again sent me through a few hoops (like detours).

This doesn't make me feel very comfortable to rely on this system for navigation. Fortunately I live just outside the city, so I do know my way around a little but I think I would have been very frustrated if I was in a city I was not at all familiar with.

I check the GPS status and I had 4 sats locked in, I even enabled the A-GPS option to see if that would help.

Is this the appropriate place to post this or is there another forum or place I can send an email too?

Thanks
