This is when trying to log in to facebook or twitter.
Using wi-fi
Please advise of your Phone Model, Product Code and Firmware version.

I got this too, all of a sudden.

There is a problem where if the device cannot connect to the default access point, it will fail and not iterate down the list. This will be fixed in future versions. In the meantime the only resolution is to change your default access point. Does this seem to resolve this problem?
I'm sorry, I've been away. I think this is actually what I did, I know I did something that helped anyway.

Even after making the changes mentioned above I am still getting the error. But would like to add a few details from my experience which seems to be missing above.
Handset: Nokia 5800
F/W Version: 40.0.005
1. I am able to login and work when I use wi-fi.
2. I am unable to login("Unable to connect to gateway. Please try again") when I use GPRS.
And, with the latest update even when connected via wi-fi I get the same error.
Try the following:
1. Open the main application menu
2. Hit Settings
3. Hit Connectivity
4. Hit Destinations
5. Hit Internet
6. You should have your Wifi internet access point and your GPRS internet access point listed. If one of them is missing, go back a screen and select the option to add a new access point and add the missing one to the Internet category.
7. On the Internet screen, tap the access point you would like to use that is currently working with other applications, and hit Options->Organize->Change priority.
8. Tap the top spot in the list twice to select the current top access point and then switch with it.
@Austin: Re-checked the settings mentioned above. But, the problem stays as it was with a slight change that after upgrading my phone's firmware to v50.0.005 I am able to connect using wi-fi.
Also, my GPRS works perfectly fine with other applications(eg. Opera, Facebook for Nokia etc.). Except for this software where I keep getting the same error whenever i try to login i.e. "Unable to connect to gateway. Please try again later."
Have you checked http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-messaging-for-social-networks-beta/... ? This sounds like an issue that is covered there.
I don't think its a problem that connection settings can fix. My mini (latest fw version) is also "unable to connect to gateway". At first I thought it was a problem with weak cellular network signal as I've recently been in an area where network coverage is pretty weak but now, after returning to my home city where I'm mostly on WiFi I got the same result. I was using Communities happily after you've fixed "cannot retrieve feed items" problem when it suddenly stopped working about two days ago. Is the gateway down? Any info when it will be up again?;) It seems I like Communities more than default FB client now:)
Its something with the facebook security. Facebook doesn't allow loggin attempts from unfamiliar places for our profile. for the moment Facebook only allows ebuddy to loggin, no other services are allowed. Please find a way to overcome this....

This is a known issue that the server team is working to resolve.
I solved this problem on my N97. The problem is when you have a number/symbol in your password if you hold down the button to get that number/symbol instead of hitting the "sym" button it fails. The number/symbol looks like it enters in correctly but you get the gateway error. It you type your password using the "sym" button it works.
@ ahamlin1 i'm experiencing the same problem and your solution doesnt work for me. please nokia, hurry up and make the app run again!

And ahamlin1: could you please try not using your possible fix and tell me if the result is the same, and if it is, can you give me your firmware version (check my profile for how to get it)?
I am able to login without using the "sym" key by holding down the required key now. Thank you for the fix.

The firmware was put on my phone by placo when I sent it in for repair.
I am also suffering the same problem "unable to connect to gateway" during login into social networking with Nokia N8 from last 3 days....pls suggest some solution.
