hello I have a X6-00 16Gb. I was checking my email account via message on the home screen shortcut this morning, it went fine. however this afternoon the email shortcut was gone and it became a blank grey bar... I tried turning off the email display home screen, unfortunately the grey bar still exists. I have also tried changing theme, but the grey bar still exists... It is a great feature where I can just click and check my email. is there any fix for this?
Hi Technically not the right forum for this - bt firstly have you tried reinstalling NM for e-mail?
Have you rebooted the device - removing battery and sim card for 5 minutes.

Always working solution:
1. Restart the application.
2. If not working, re-install the application.
3. If not working, reboot the phone.
4. If not working, re-install the phone (hard format and reinstall).
5. If not working, switch to another brand.

The only other option rather than doing a hard reset which will not correct and support files that may be missing is open up Nokia software updater and reflash (reinstall) the firmware. Just in case something has become corrupted. Then you may have to reinstall NM but might not. Back up important stuff first. Just in case although most times by using this method you don't lose data.

@sheridan01 I tried flashing the firmware, didn't have to reinstall NM... but it still doesn't work... ahh... I have checked out the forum you suggested, I found similar problems there but no one has solution.
I hope Nokia will provide solution to this matter since I have read about this problem on the net in multiple locations and people are getting very upset about this bug. please help! thank you.

One question - what exactly was the process for this to occur. I can try to replicate on my X6. Between checking e-mail in morning and it occuring in afternoon did you install anything? or remove anything? or do anything that you don't normally do with the device?

You know the short cut that we can just click on the home screen and check email? I didn't do anything in particular, it was working fine when I checked email in the morning, but then when I look at my phone again about 4 hours later the email bar just become a useless grey bar... I do use that function pretty often, about 10 times a day to check email...
I hope this situation won't happen to your phone since it is pretty frustrating...
I have a similar problem (also had grey bar for a while but fixed it) in that my inbox shows on the homescreen but just stopped updating one day.
Have played with all the settings I can find (not always intuitive on the X6) to no avail. Anyone have any ideas how to rectify this?
Hi, this thread is still open? I just got the same problem 2 hours ago. I noticed my phone checking for new e-mail and then the bar went blank. All of a sudden. It still checks for e-mail every hour and the sound notification with new e-mail still works.
And I still can access my mailbox, but then I have to go through the phone's application menu and tap the "Messages" icon.
Any solutions yet?
