Fails to find Gateway on N97 20.0.019

Hi,

Updated to N97 Firmware 20.0.019 today. Installed the client and when I go to sign in it brings up the error that it cannot find gateway.

I have in attempt to get it working tried the following, assume after each of the below I have tried to sign in 4 times before trying the next:

- held the end key to kill all 3G data comms
- rebooted phone numerous times
- Uninstalled/Reinstalled App using the .sis file on PC (about 6 times)
- Navigated to the page and downloaded via phone browser and installed (1 time)
- Attempted connection via Wifi

Each attempt fails with the above error.

Any suggestions or newer version of the software?

In different Cell locations to see if it was the Cell that I was in that was causing the issues.

Results was still the same :(

I found this problem as well. However all I did is remove the program, browse to beta labs on my phone, download, installed and ran using 3g, and got a connection quite fast.

kevinm2k: Thanks for the update...I just tried that and no dice. I still get the gateway error.

Another thing I'm seeing with v20 is that Accuweather sometimes can't obtain a GPS fix and bombs out a few times.

I read a post on one of the symbian forums that stated that the build of v20 had better interface/widgets for social networking...but none was installed on mine.

I REALLY wish that v20 had included Internet Radio...I miss my stations!!!! Nokia...if you're reading...PLEASE!!!!! Even if you just want to release the .SIS file to us N97 users... (funny that as a fix, I have an adhoc WiFi network setup and link my N96 to either my N97 or iPhone to get it working for now).

i get this error too! No options to change suite settings so you can force correct gateway. Have tried on 3g and wifi and none work. Removed in frustration. Am on vodafone with v12

were you able to find out anything about v20 and its apparent causing widgets to malfunction?

I'm getting script errors in Accuweather as well....lots.

the fact that nokia dosent inform its software developers about new firmware is something to follow up on right?

Anyway my gateway and feed fetching problems started before the firmware update but became constant after the firmware upda.

this also did not work for me with latest n97 fw.

I also get the accuweather script errors constantly.

Wasnt this supposed to be included with the latest fw with other communities?

guyver2077: Yep...it's just odd that the widget didn't even come included in v20...as well as others that were supposed to be. Seems that v20 that was released may have been missing things?

NGage was missing (with good reason) as they officially announced it was dead anyway.

Accuweather N97 was missing...and not working even from a reinstall

Some sites stated that it would include Social Networking of sorts...but nothing was loaded...not even the FB app that came loaded from factory

I'm actually saddened by this one. I received my N97 as a gift and was very excited. It has GREAT potential..yet seems that Nokia is busy doing other things rather than push and help out its customer base (anyone ever have a Tilt and deal with the Qualcomm/HTC rants over the graphics drivers?).

Nokia..please be reading AND actually listening, not just reading...help out your community!!! We love you guys...but seems like your're leaving a LOT of people hanging right now. Even a short message of "Hey guys...we know you're having issues, we're working on them and will help you guys out ...be patient" will be good. An acknowledgement of sorts if you will...but silence is NOT good folks!

I thought v20 was also meant to have lots of other apps including this community app, however software does get delayed by unforeseen circumstances, I work in the industry too.

Really looking forward to this software! Please can you release another beta or something to tide us over! Or at least give us abit of a update. Thanks

Yes plz we really need a full working facebook app asap.....and installation on e drive wld be better....really loving my N 97 after version 2.0......

Do you guys have a Sharepoint site that us users can see where things might be rolling out?

It seems that there are a LOT of issues with v20...

jeetu4444, I totally agree with you. But not just for the FB app, but for others too. Either that or simply just FINALLY give an N series device more memory for the system (ehem...N900...)....they need to do something like that with the N97.

And yes installation choice of drives is a must. I'm shocked at how little memory the N97 has but it's something that has to be lived with

Hi Guys,

Need your help.
Updated to N97 Firmware 12.0.026.
Installed the software (communities-beta_v0.7.161_betalabs.sisx).
Error during signin:-

Error: the client failed to connect to the gateway

Any suggestion to resolved the error?

Hi nazarmn,

The problem you are describing is most likely the same client/server communication issue that everyone else is experiencing in this thread. Unfortunately there is no way for you to resolve the problem. The problem should be fixed once a new client is released in a few weeks.

I am a Nokia buyer for long time....and I only have one question for Nokia people. When we will have a service like Blackberry that permit cell operators like the ones in my country, to have unlimited data packet by $10.00 per month, that include email service, blackberry chat and full internet acces.

I dont like Blackberry, but i am considering buy one because of these features. Please tell us, to the nokia fans, when we can't get a services on your divices like your competitor....
