Suggestion for Nokia Messaging for Social Networks Beta

ive been using the new social messaging app for the past day, it looks promising but it leaves much to be desired.
here is what i would like to see in the application:

1) the ability to see pictures fullscreen when u open them instead of a small thumbnail

2) speaking of thumbnails, why does the app save all the images in the downloaded tab of the phones photo album ?

3) ability to chat with friends on facebook?

4) ability to install it on a different drive then c

5) to be able to see pokes from friends and to be able to poke back ( its not there unless i missed it)

6) ablity to view the videos in the applications instead of just seeing thumbnails for them.

7) the ability to minimize or remove the news feed drop down menu.

8) right now in portrait mode the application doesnt show the text and pictures completely, u have to move it a little to the left or right to see text etc.

9) make it more touch friendly, sometimes it does not register touch and has to be pressed repeatedly

10) maybe its too much to ask for, but in my opinion nokia messaging should combine all aspects of connectivity together, for instance it can replace the standard nokia sms application and would combine together all messages, for instance facebook, IM( aim, msn, yahoo etc) txt messages, and emails together under the persons name. so that you can see all of them in one screen and chose to reply as appropriate( kinda like how the leaked sony erisson Rachel demo shows things integrated).

yup oz.mian said it, i think its time that we had an integrated communication app. you dont need to open different apps to communicate. the basic functionality has been there in all phones - not only nokia - for example, when you receive an mms, you can reply either an mms or sms, just need to expand it to email and chat if you know your friend is online.

an idea for this app is you have 4 different tabs within it :
1. for all communications (email, sms, chat, mms, hopefully facebook/twitter). of course this is a list of persons you communicate with, you click a persons name, there you see all communications (email, mms, chat, sms) with that person threaded based on when the messages are received. in this instance, naturally, it's all mixed up, you can have an email displayed after an sms, etc as it is displayed based on when it was received not based on type of message (sms, email, etc).

even better, if you want to send A MESSAGE to MULTIPLE contacts, you can send to your friend "john" an sms, and when you want to include "jack" and you know jack is online, you can choose chat instead, and email to jane. of course, when for example, jack replies, his reply will be shown under jack's thread with the original message i sent displayed.

that is super user-friendly and with nokia messaging architecture, nokia is ready to win back the smartphone market..

Hi Oz.Mian,

I will address your comments one by one:

1. I will open up an enhancement request for this.
2. What version of our client are you using? (Go to Options->About to find out) I believe this should have already been fixed. If you have cached images showing up try deleting them from your device. Assuming you are using a newer client (Such as the newest beta release) I do not think you will encounter this issue anymore.
3. Unfortunately this is out of my scope. Management is aware of this request as it has been a relatively common one and it will be up to them to decide what should be supported by our client.
4. Installing on a drive other than C is actually a lot harder than you might think it would be. We are working hard on supporting install on the E drive but there are a lot of technical limitations we still have to overcome.
5. This is on our road map.
6. I will create an enhancement request for this, but it may be difficult to support this from inside the application. It is more likely that we would have to open up the browser and direct you to the video from there. I can't say for sure what we will end up doing but I will make sure this gets some attention at least.
7. I will add an enhancement request for this.
8. I know that sometimes the container is a few pixels too big but I have not seen any text being cut off in the recent Social Mixer builds. Can you confirm your version number? I know we had major problems with this in our first release.
9. Unfortunately a lot of this is a device limitation. The device tells us when you have hit the screen and where you have hit it. The N97 really is meant to be used with a stylus so sometimes it can be a pain if you try to use your fingers. The second side to this problem is that some of our buttons may be too small to easily push. I will see what we can do about that.
10. I am not privy to these kind of overall business decisions so unfortunately there is nothing I can say on this topic as you know just as much as I do.

Hi,

I just wanted to provide an update now that I have more information.

The news feed bar is now part of the feed list itself. If you scroll down the feed list will disappear so that it no longer takes up valuable real estate. I know that isn't the same as removing it completely but I think it is the best middle ground we will get.

Viewing photos in full screen is planned but will most likely be a post beta releases item.

Viewing embedded videos is also a post beta releases item and will most likely launch the browser in order to handle the actual viewing of the video.
