The Nokia Messaging team is pleased to introduce the social networking client for Nokia Messaging: an integrated, multi-network social widget that allows Nokia mobile users to view, post, and comment on messages, to share their location and status on the go while keeping up with their social circles right from their Nokia handsets. This client currently supports Facebook and will expand to more social media networks in the near future. Nokia Messaging will be offered as messaging services bundle whereby operators offer access to Mail, Chat, and Communities all for one fixed low price.
We invite you to download and test drive this social networking client from Nokia Beta Labs. This is an early preview, currently available on Nokia N97 and Nokia 6700 devices, we will support more devices in the future. We also invite you to visit the email site to set up email and instant messaging on your Nokia device.

Compatibility and system requirements
The Social Networking Beta is compatible with the N97 firmware version 12.X.024 and the 6700 Classic, and will not function correctly on other devices. We are working to add support for more devices and more communities in the future. Keep following BetaLabs for updates.

What’s the difference between the current Facebook client on my Nokia N97, the Ovi lifecasting widget and Nokia Messaging Social Networking client?
The difference between Nokia Social Networking client and Facebook application is in the scope of accessible social networks: while Facebook application is focused on consumption of Facebook community content only, Nokia Social Networking client delivers a similar, though more integrated experience for facebook as well as other social networks* all through a single client.
The difference between Nokia Social Networking client and Ovi Lifecasting is in the scope of the service: Ovi Lifecasting is a widget that allows consumers to broadcast their location, messages, and media on the go to their Facebook network, while Nokia Social Networking client allows consumers not only to broadcast but to also view and comment on their Facebook content with full access to Facebook portal. In the future Nokia Social Networking client will be available on more devices and will support more Social Networks.
*Other communities will be supported soon.
Download and installation
You must accept the following terms in order to download the client and participate in the beta. Installing this client on a device other than the Nokia N97 with firmware version 12.X.024, or Nokia 6700 classic, will not work. Please note that the latest N97 firmware 20.X.019 is not compatible at this time.

- Nokia N97: Navigate to this page using your Nokia device web browser, then download and install the .sis file.
