Nokia N8 Can't Delete Photos in Nokia Photo Browser

I've purchased a Nokia N8 phone factory model so fully unlocked and think it's great.
However i deleted some photos from my memory card and mass memory and they still show up in Nokia Photo Browser but as a broken link.
When I try to delete them from the browser it just says System Error.
Is there a way to delete the broken links so they don't show up in the Photo browser?. It seems silly that i have to scroll through the broken links first to get to my actual photos.
I did contact Nokia Support who told me to do a soft reset holding the power button down for 8 seconds until it vibrates 3 times which i did with no improvement. The deleted images links are still showing up.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I had same problem and this is how I fixed it:
Connect your Nokia N8 to your PC. Either using the Ovi Suite or using windows explorer via 'My Computer' access the folder containing the pictures that error.
Note their file names.
Now copy a working picture within that folder and paste in the same folder (should creat Copy of 19022011311.jpg for example)
Now rename the picture to the file name of the image that errors.
Once done, go into your mobile phone and browse to pictures, find the image that errors and now try deleting it.
It should then dissapear from your photo browser.

You'r simply creating the link from the thumbnial to an actual file again, and then re-deleting it. A test to see if you copied the image and renamed it correctly is to browse to the image that errors in your Nokia N8 and zoom in on the image. It will display the errored thumbnail, but when you zoom in it will change to the image you copied previously.

I will give it a go tonight and see if it works. Makes perfect sense what you say about tricking the N8
into the link that it currently can't find.

I'll let you know once i've tried it.
