i have a picture of my friend and his girlfriend. the phone detected the faces and gave me the option of face browsing put when i want to start the option it says no faces found?! On the other pisture with my 3 friend it works fine, detects the faces and enables browsing.

At least half the photos I have of people on my phone do not register for face browsing and those that do not all faces register. Also apparently my 4 month old son has no face as he hasn't registered on any of his photos.

So far it works perfect on my n85 fp2 device. Hmm maybe this should be looked at for fp1 devices. just a taught.
I have a n-85, and photos fall into 3 categories - no option to face-browse (most photos without people, occasional shots with people where the face isn't clear), an option to face-browse, but when it is selected it reports 'no faces found' (most shots with people and clear faces, some individual front facing portrait style shots), and an option to face-browse, with some/all faces found (only 1 or 2 shots so far, 1 downloaded image with a white only background of a few people, and a passport style photo).
Perhaps it has to do with contrast settings, and/or background noise? would it be possible to allow the face-browsing option to remain all the time, or to disappear unless any faces are actually detected?

We confirmed this is happening and will try to fix it. It seems the faces are actually detected as you will get to browse them when you come back to the image after a whle.

Is this the case because the face detection component takes a little while to pick up the faces, and the 'no faces found' is actually a time out?
just a suggestion:
I don't know if this happens already or not, but could the co-ordinates of the faces be detected at the same time as the creation of the thumbnails, and then stored along with the thumbnail data for faster viewing later? Perhaps this could happen before the image is displayed in the app, so images 'pop up' in the app once the thumbnail has been generated and the face detection component finished?
You're right, leeyam. That's actually how we wrote the program. But the problem is there. We'll try to fix this error.
faces of children are to 100% not recognized. faces of adults are only up to 15-20% recognized.
But in general the program is that excellent, I want to have it opened by presing the Gallery button on the side of my N95 instead of the standard viewer. I want it today! ;-))
