Thanks for a report.
Do you mean the grid view stays in the landscape (or portrait) mode? Could you try turning your device several times? Sometimes the sensor data is not picked up.
From the portrait mode, which way are you turning your device? I forgot to mention this, but it is only supporting the rotation to the counter clockwise direction at the moment.

About the MEDIA BAR:
When the application is open, icons on the media bar have a different orientation a default one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its not really a big deal, let me explain a bit more briefly.
the media bar, when in landscape mode, opens with the icons rotated correctly. But if we change to portrait mode, icons rotate to normal. This is not the case when using the app. If we press media bar, the icons will still be rotated in landscape mode, even if we are using the photo browser application in portrait mode. I hope that made sense... lol
