We had a long discussion about this on another topic. try to search about it first.
first of all it does nothing to do with 3D accelerator. ofcourse 3D accelerator does its job but the filename is talking about accelerometer.
the filename makes this misunderstandation. this file is used for 3.1 (FP1) phones with accelerometer and 3.2 (FP2) phones that dont have accelerometer.
I hope i've made it clear;).
