The application is very nice. The nokia 5800 is very nice phone but up untill now it was sad that there wasn't a good photo browser with cool features. This application made a great improvement.

In this discussion i would love to see extra additional features which would make this app perfect.

- I would love to see options like delete pic, move pics, exit, etc.
- Maybe there is also a possibility to use the phone when you tilt it sideways that the pics scroll by from left to right or right to left (depending how you hold the phone)

Agree with original post, use of the accelerometer to scroll through the wall of pics would be a cool addition.
Maybe having option whether to view all pics in gallery or pics via album view would be useful. or even have options of exluding albums viewed or selecting albums to view per session.
But yes a photo management option seems a logical step

i just saw this, and register'd to post here! nokia, you guys have created a Marvelous app! Clearly amazing interface very innovative!
A few suggestions from my side
-As Original poster stated, lets make this app more functional by adding simple operations like delete,move,send(via bluetooth) and other such operations. A good idea would be to incorporate these actions such that if we scroll a little more downwards, these controls would pop up on the bottom part of the screen, or in some similar fashion.
-I was not able to set this app as a shortcut on the homescreen. any idea why?
-in vertical mode, would it not be better to flick left and right for next/previous images, rather than up down?
Love the 3d instant rotations, much better than disappearing screen effects.The App is simply superb, shows how much difference a well written piece software can make! the default gallery app is simply nothing compared to this app surely!
I see an amazing future for Nokia Photo Browser!!!! :D

- Maybe it would also be possible to create a nice slideshow with also music you can select yourself? the Nokia N95 had this option and was superb!
- More zoom options than only one time zoom.

yes slemsje, agreed i was playing around with the app a bit, i noticed that one level zoom was simply not enough. maybe incorporating the volume rocker keys to zoom in more/less would be cool!

First of all, thanks for initiating this thread! Secondly, I wish somebody would initiate other similar threads too, around things like simplicity, speed, look&feel, overall usability, etc.

Of course, features are important - but it's not the only thing that counts. And I'm sure you all understand the importance of avoiding feature creep...

The picture's information display in landscape mode even though the phone is in portrait, perhaps it's a bug ?

The magnify glass function is great but toward the border is hard to use so can something be done about this ? like where you tap isn't exactly what it will zoom when you are near the border, this sounds weird but hope you get it.

Three simple buttons for all operations: Options for selected file, Slideshow and Back to grid mode( or Exit when in grid mode). Most of the time these will be hidden and will appear only when there is no transition or something is selected.

There should definitely be a way to select which photos to view in the slide show. It would be nice to show few when you want to show someone the photos but not all (of your business, privacy please).

I feel that there should be at least a share option.

I'm going to say no to the slideshow just because it's so easy and cool slide them by yourself. But the transition between single images needs to be smother.

I would also love to be able to set this app like the default image viewer.

1- Can filter what folder will appear in the gallery (i hateto see my albuns and wallpapers on the default gallery browser, thats the worst ever).

2- The image quality still far away from the original one when the picture is on fullscreen.

Is it possible to make the zoom level to follow how hard you press the screen ? Well this might kill the phone but... it would be cool :D

Very cool app. Wish I could integrate this to the gallery immediately!
please include this in the future firmwares.

I notice that there are no options menu. It would be cool to add additional options and exit menu.

I also noticed that the pictures in the gallery are not in sync with the photo browser. Is this always the case?

Text recognition like face detection.
Somehow a text recognition that can possibly turn it into a note(usable copy paste)
Or maybe even use the built in speech to read the text.

Im just tossing out ideas to follow along the lines the project has started with "fun" in mind and adding just cool features and method of interactions.

That is a great idea applying pressure for zoom level since the screen is resistive so it reads and reacts to pressure. Real cool idea!
