i removed ODML and installed nokia play when i start app my phone reboot and shows start up failed cantact...... Great.
Was this just a one time reboot and note or is it permanent?
I mean after long press (about 8sec) of power key or battery removal (Iguess you have N8, makes it a bit tricky) is it still not booting up?

yes i have n8. My phone reboot every time when i tried to open ''play to'' and show me start up failed. I removed app and phone its working now.
nokia suite shows me that ODML is still installed on my phone also netqin and I can not remove.
i think is part of check in but i can not find this in app manager
Mine started displaying this behaviour after I had to do a hard reset. This happens now every time with the older version as well as v10.02(6). Worked fine before. The phone doesn't give me any error, though, just reboots.
Also, Angry Birds freezes at the loading screen every time since the hard reset. I wonder if there is a connection. Reinstalling either does not help. Launching the new Store client sometimes reboots the phone, too. It seems to be linked with whether I am logged on to Nokia Reader at the time -- been having some problems with that as well.
Any thoughts?
@f_p: You say Nokia Suite shows you have ODML Commons Repository still installed. Does it appear as installed also in phone's: Settings... Installations... Already installed?
No only in nokia suite
Hi again,
A few questions:
-Do you have or have you had the Nokia Bubbles installed in your phone?
-Is Store QML client working well for you?
-If you have Play To installed and you try to activate our server in Settings... Connectivity settings... Play To server -> set it on
-Does that work or do you get a crash there as well as with the Play To app itself?
-yes i do, latest version
-no. well, it is, more or less, that is if it doesn't crash the phone, which it does if nokia reader isn't working properly either.
-yes and yes, play to still crashes every time
-no crash when setting the server on. i have been meaning to test play to with a different wlan connection, but keep forgetting.
Same problem here. phone resets after starting play to. When i turn Play to server on, it says: Device must be connected to the wlan in order the server functionality to work........... I am already connected.
I have had Nokia bubbles on my phone, but after a hard reset I never installed it again.
ODML doesn't show in my installed applications list.
I got rid of my problem. It seems that an app called NetQin Mobile Guard was causing the rebooting for me. I finally got fed up with the phone acting up, deleted all data and restored factory settings a second time. I then re-installed all my apps a few at a time, and checked if Play To (and Angry Birds) worked properly.
I saved NetQin Mobile Guard till last, somehow I already suspected it (that or the new Store client) of being the culprit. Installed NetQin, Play To started rebooting the phone again, and Angry Birds didn't load up. Removed NetQin, and everything was back to normal. Got rid of most of other freezes and glitches, as well. The phone works fine now. I don't what it is about the NetQin app that screws up the phone, but I suggest you try removing it if you have it.
(And now, if you could recommend to me another app with similar functionality such as Mobile Guard, with easy cache deletion and app autolaunch management, I would be very pleased.)
Hi mth0th,
And thanks for sharing your findings! We will study this also to dig the root cause for our app to reset.
Big hands!

There seemed to be several different versions in NetQin pages.
- NetQin Mobile Security
- NetQin Mobile Manager (ei N8:lle yms Symbian^3)
- NetQin Mobile Guard
For Symbian^3 (N8, C7, etc)at least this one works fine (does not reset):
NetQin_P1432_MG_S60OS90+94_v_3_0_0_Express_Signed_EN_20101231.sisx
’NetQin Mobile Security’ version that resets in Play To start(Anna: 022.014 with PlayTo 10.2.6):
NetQin_P1432_AV_v5.0_for_S60_5th_Sign_en_signed_20110715.sisx
---> DO NOT USE THIS ONE!!!
mth0th - can you tell which version you had?

Edit addition: In Belle so far all we have tested work fine.
I had both, actually, but removing Mobile Security didn't fix the problem for me - it went away only after I had uninstalled Mobile Guard. I also seem to recall having the same problems with Mobile Security v4 - I expected v5 to improve things, but it didn't.
Same to me and my N8! I was going crazy trying to solve the problem! Now I unstalled NetQin and "Play To" is working again and not rebooting my phone. Happy about that but unhappy with the lost of the good and recomended things NetQin were doing... :S
I just ran into the same problem, after installing the latest NetQin Mobile Guard on Symbian Belle. A couple of minutes after the restart the phone would freeze for good. 8 second power button doesn't do anything. I just restored my factory settings, hope that solves it.
I just identified the issue: NetQin conflicts with FSecure. I was able to quickly uninstall FSecure before it started and my problem got solved
Good for you, but not sure about that... Back on Symbian^3, I had F-Secure and didn't experience problems with it and NetQin. Didn't have trouble with the two on Anna, either, until I was forced to do a clean install. So I guess it's a combination of several things. It's probably best to steer clear of NetQin apps altogether for now.
