So, squircles and all, I jump at it happily with the trial N9 on my desk, thinking "sweet, I can try this one out as well"...only to find that it still doesn't support the N9. What the heck, Nokia? This device shouldn't be left in the dark. -_-

Hi lusharky, with Nokia N9, you can use Nokia Link product for moving photos, videos and music between your Nokia N9 and your PC / Mac. You can get Nokia Link from

Nokia N9 won't be supported in Nokia Suite.

Please add support for Nokia N9 in Nokia Suite 3.2
Nokia Link is totally useless, doesnt do anything you cant already do with mass storage mode
Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.x supports Noia N900 , why not Nokia N9 ...both really runs maemo and no MeeGo .... N9 just runs Harmattan framework, in the base it's still Maemeo.
Nokia N9 needs support for sync with Microsoft Office, Calendar, Contact, messages.
and what if you have a Backup created in Ovi suite of a ex. Nokia N8 ,and that phone gets lost or stolen .. .so you get Nokia N9 ...you cant do anything. The Backup is lost (unless you use third party solutions)
How to transfer Maps to the Nokia N9 if you have no WLAN?
Hi JudaZ, there's no plans to support Nokia N9 with Nokia Suite. I asked Nokia Link product team to comment here Nokia Link specific questions.
--
Samuli
Then how do I sync windows contacts to my N9?
Nokia Link doesn't support contacts and message sync?
zarsky88,
You can synchronize your contacts and calendar directly to a web/cloud service using your N9. This way your personal information is available on any computer!
- Kale
Thanks for the reply!
I'd still value a offline option, as I'm not too keen on putting all my information on the web...
kale_ - and if you don't have the possibility to sync via the cloud?
How do you update the device, transfer maps new maps, Tranfer calendar data, contacts, messages if you don't have WLAN and all your important data is stored in example Outlook? or in Ovi Suite for that matter.?
What if you have a backup created of your old phone, created with Ovi Suite, and you loose your phone. You think... "I might as well get the Nokia N9" ... but then you can get nothing back.. because Nokia Link offer nothing of use! .... If Nokia Suite can support Nokia N900, why can't it support Nokia N9 ... easy .. because you choose it to be so.
N900 and N9 use the same OS .. with a framwork attached to the N9 to say its MeeGo , but it is in reality Maemo. ....Nokia Link is indicating that you want Nokia N9 to fail ... and the lack of support for Windows Live Mail makes me think you want Windows Phone to fail as well.
Hi JudaZ, you can update Nokia N9 software over the air, using device itself.
Actually, Nokia N900 and Nokia N9 differ quite much from desktop connectivity point of view. During development of Nokia N9, team behind Nokia N9 decided, that for Nokia N9 and Nokia N9 users, Nokia Link would be best possible desktop software, not Nokia Suite.

"During development of Nokia N9, team behind Nokia N9 decided, that for Nokia N9 and Nokia N9 users, Nokia Link would be best possible desktop software, not Nokia Suite."
...you would really think that Nokia would have learned after the Symbian debacle that a bit of focus on a single project would bring better results than the constant and, quite frankly, tiresome constant reinventing of the wheel.
No winder Nokia's market-share is in free-fall.
Well to be honest, I don't like Nokia Link..it's very tiny and more over it doesn't support large data of 4GB or more or even less.. I tried 8GB & 4GB to transfer but none of it worked.
However, instead of using Nokia Link.. I am using Windows Media to shift Songs & videos - more convenient.
Let's wait for the improve format of Nokia Link or use the device over the air .
@mohammad.yousaf
Please be aware that pushing 4 or 8Gb over the air could be both expensive and time consuming.

I feel you should think about adding N9 to Nokia suite as we need a way to backup our device in case we need to do factory reset for some reaon and it would be nice to have the full capabilities of the Nokia Suite a High end phone as the N9. i think you need to rethink N9 support as it is what your N9 customer would like.

sounds like the development team for Nokia N9 didn't think at all.
and what they decided was of the wall insane
And how much can it really differ. Last i checked it ran basically the same kernel. I think it time to think again, rewrite some code and add the support customers want..
Add support for Nokia N9 in Nokia Suite!
Nokia need to add support for the N9 in Nokia Suite. Security restrictions at my place of work mean the only way to sync Outlook Contacts/Calendar needs to be done via direct cable link.
This was a big mistake to not include for launch...

I understand that Nokia Link works on the N9, however the superior functionality that Nokia Suite provides, is not given by Nokia LInk. For example, I can update multiple devices using Nokia Suite (contacts, calender information, etc.) For me, it is more important to keep contacts and calender synced than to have media synced. Please, please provide support for the N9. Also I would really appreciate it if the beta trial would include the N9 as well (especially when Qt is primary platform used to create apps, and it's not that much more difficult to include the N9)
HI gays at nokia, how could you do this, how to do if you have Windows Vista or XP, Link is not compatible???
How can we by a nice phone if we van't use it?

Funny thing.. Apparently Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 does recognize and support Nokia N9.
So dear beta labs ... why can't you add support for it in Nokia Suite 3.2?
The support was quite obviously removed on purpose.
Or can you give me a download link to Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290?
Please add support for the N9. As it is Nokia Link is useless without support for sending messages and synchronizing contacts.
@JudaZ
Interesting! try here

Edit: But please note the comment by juha.v.lintula below to avoid unwanted upgrade
It seems that there are some hard 'political' pressure from MS to try really intensively to make N9 a fiasco. I guess to be able to claim that WP7 is better on similar hardware.... Just my guess though... (But fully in line with killing bubbles, and making N9 only available in selected usually secondary markets)

Hi!
I had old PC Suite and Ovi Suite 3.1 installed on my PC when I got my new N9. Then I installed Nokia Suite 3.2.64 and it worked with my N9! I upgraded to 3.2.66 and it still worked. Then my PC went to reinstallation and I had to reinstall 3.2.66 and now my N9 is no longer supported! :(
I was very happy when I could sync my Outlook contacts and calendar with my N9. Syncing via cloud requires one extra step and in our company we are not supposed to share our calendars with external and "unknown" datastores.
The current situation with no offline support for syncing calendar and contacts makes life with N9 very complicated.
Best regards,
Juha Lintula
PS. If you want to install Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 unplug your network cable/close wifi connection as the installation software will otherwise automatically upgrade the Ovi Suite to 3.1.something and the N9 won't work.
PPS. When I had installed 3.0.0.290, synced it once with my N9. I upgraded to 3.2.66 and it worked!! :)
Edit: My experience is that if you want to use both cable and bluetooth you have to do it first once with 3.0.0.290 with both connection types. With 3.2 only that/those connection modes work that have been used also with the earlier version.
@juha.v.lintula
Could you try to uninstall any Nokia software on the PC, and see if you can reinstall to recreate the working scenario?
@EskeRahn
I think I managed to do it. Read the PPS in my post.
Ah, great! (I misunderstood it, sorry)
hi,
had a read of Juha Lintula's comment on ovi suite, all good installed 3.0.0.290, the update, and N9 connected ok, able to use all
EXCEPT MAPS,says cant find the card, N9 has no card.tried what it suggested a couple of times still no success.
Anyhow thank you Juha, and someone else might help with MAPS
@lousharky & others
Maps is not working with N9 and also i couldn't connect to internet via my N9. Nokia Suite said that no SIM card is missing. Also I haven't tried to backup my device so I don't know if it works or not.
thank you Juha...my N9 setup is now perfect!
Hi Nokia
So if 3.0.0.290 works fine with N9 and then you update to 3.2 and it works fine looks like is was Nokia that removed support not the fact that the N9 cant be supported. Nokia Please add proper support back to the N9 in Nokia Suite 3.2 and make it that we dont have to use a work around just to get our phone to sync properly.
regards

Will we get the N9 support back with the RP 1.1(the coming n9 update?)? coz as far as i know the issue with the current n9 SW?

Could anyone from Nokia tell me how to copy or move my old sms messages from the N900 to my new N9? I have a backup in the Ovi Suite from my N900, but since N9 isn't supported I can't get the messages for the N9.
@mi74
Have you tried the 3.0.0.290 workaround for N9 proposed in posts #28-#31?
I have Nokia Link, but I don't like it: it is way too limited. You should either add support to the N9 for Nokia Suite or give Nokia Link the same functionality that Nokia Suite has.
@tayito read posts #28-#31 above. Slightly older Suite 3.0.0.290 supports N9. Updating it to 3.2.66 even keeps the support.
@EskeRahn
I tried and it actually recognized the N9, but the recovery for sms didn't work, it only worked for the other stuff that I already moved by bluetooth...so still looking for a solution.
@mi74
Have you tried the 3.0.0.290 workaround for N9 proposed in posts #28-#31?
@mi74, Too bad... Sorry it didn't work. ;(
FYI, the latest PC Suite (7.1.62.1) recognize the N9
At least for the sms, contact, backup and file transfer.
But using 4 softwares (*) to have the possibilities to synchronize, manage and transfers data from your smartphone to your PC is not a serious solution
(*) OviSuite (3.0.0.290) + Nokia Suite (3.2.98) + PC Suite (7.1.62.1) + Link.
Hi saylinen, you wrote in info about the new version that we should use Nokia Link, but still there have not been a version for Vista/XP. Is it an new trying from Microsoft that we have to update to W7 ???
RaySaarni,
We are already working with XP and Vista support for Nokia Link. So, that is coming soon.
- Kale
There is a way to make N9 work with Nokia Suite 3.2.98 beta.
Disconnect from the internet -> install older versio (for example the one that comes with E7) -> plug in N9 and Ovi Suite to recognize it -> install 3.2.98 beta and voilá - beta recognizes N9.
And now you may reconnect to the internet.
Everything else seems to work just fine except Maps.
Nokia Suite 3.2.98 beta doesn't find the maps onboard N9.
Thanks goes to Winny @ Nokia Support Discussions.
Thanks kale, I'm waiting
Thanks Jayzteroid, it worked :) I finally got all the old sms from N900 copied to the N9!
Here's another question :)
Right now the settings for syncronizing Mail for exchange mails are 1 day, 3 days, 1 week and 2 weeeks...for gmail it's possible to choose "all messages" as well as for the Exchange Calender, but WHY NOT for the e-mails?
@Jayzteroid
You could also let thanks go to post #28-#31 by JudaZ and juha.v.lintula that already gave exactly the same hint. :)
Yep, you're right.
Thanks to JudaZ and juha.v.lintula also.
I'm glad that I can use Nokia Suite with N9, since I'm not a big fan of Nokia Link.
Moderator joined from Nokia Suite 3.2 Beta for Windows/Suggestions/Please support Nokia N9 on Nokia Suite
This is the second suggestion I am posting. Please, please understand that currently, it seems like there is no substitute for Ovi/Nokia Suite for any Nokia smartphone. This is especially true about the N9. I did try Link, and simply speaking - it's horrible. It is simply a product designed to convert Apple users into trying the N9.
I would really appreciate it if you could provide support for N9, through Nokia suite, or at least have the functionality and capabilities (more or less) of Nokia Suite on Nokia Link.
I'm really disappointed in Nokia in making this move. Nokia suite is and will be a powerful tool, not just for business (super) users, but for even the little ones who like to have a unified approach.
Moderator joined from Nokia Suite 3.2 Beta for Windows/Discussion/N9 no outlook sync
N9 no sync with Outlook.
Whatever problems Nokia had, at last my schedule was always updated. Now it's just a pain. The N9 is useless the way it is. When will it be syncronisable?????
@me4myself
If your Ovi Suite just dies, when you are trying to sync with Outlook, you may have the same problem that I do (see http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-suite-3-2-beta-for-windows/bugrepor...). This bug is being worked on.
Thanks Juha! I installed the Nokia Ovi Suite like you posted at #31. Then updated to 3.2.100 and still works!
ps. I don't understand why Nokia have decided to drop the N9 from the "supported" list.
I'm using Mac OSX and Windows - and I really can't understand why for both platforms there aren't any satisfying solutions for the N9. Nokia Link is buggy and unreliable and just doesn't make a professional impression. It might be ok for an mp3 player but def. not enough for a complex phone like the N9. I hope NokiaLink will improve a lot.
It's just incredible that for OSX and Windows that is the only software supporting the N9! Other phone companies are way ahead of that and deliver great sync applications.
A shame that Nokia kinda dropped the support for the N9 and I deeply hope that will change. I always supported Nokia and went through any kind of their phones - the N9 is def. a treasure and could compete with any phone on the market. But the knowledge that support is so bad scares people to switch to a device like that even though they're amazed of it.
I also deeply hope all that isn't because of the questionable cooperation with Microsoft, especially since other companies can support their various platforms too, but who knows.
At least for OSX there are unofficial great solutions which cover Contact/Calendar Sync and Media Transfer but I wished I'd had it all together in a Nokia Software. At least it seems to work with the older version of Nokia Suite.
@kyugi - reason why Nokia Suite doesn't support Nokia N9 is that Nokia Link desktop software is targeted for Nokia N9. So decision was made, that for Nokia N9, desktop software is Nokia Link, not Nokia Suite. After that, it was decided, that Nokia Suite doesn't support Nokia N9.

Samuli
For most people Nokia Link is still useless. As mentioned already it is more or less a tool which only copies (synchronizes) some files.
What is requested by the majority of all users is that there is a possibility to sync contacts, messages and appointments. No matter if the name of the tool is Nokia Suite or Nokia link.
People are just asking for Nokia Suite because it lacks important functionality.
@thwint & saylinen
Well the funny thing is that it actually DO support N9, at least to a large extent. (See postings #28-31 above for a small trick)
So am I wrong in guessing that this is a 'political' decision more than a technical one?
EskeRahn - Yes, seems Nokia just dont give a damn ... and want to push Nokia Link on the users no matter how worthless it is.
Nokia Link is so pointless that it could almost be replaced by a script file. copy.bat in a way :) Would probably work faster as well and be more reliable. Would sure take up less space on the comuter, and support XP and Vista as well ..
New question dear Beta Labs Team ...
if Ovi Suite and Nokia Suite can't support Nokia N9
Why does the meta data in the Backup files (.lbu) Nokia Link creates contain this line "OVI Suite Backup" ??
Anyone up for creating a converter from .nbu to .lbu? Or can you please create that Beta Labs guys?
An example from a lbu file I just created
<backup-metadata>
<format>2</format>
<size>28212656</size>
<number-of-files>6</number-of-files>
<timestamp>1321296804</timestamp>
<time_for_restoration>0</time_for_restoration>
<protected>false</protected>
<device-version></device-version>
<notes>OVI Suite Backup</notes>
<categories>
<contacts>
<size>28212656</size>
<number-of-files>6</number-of-files>
</contacts>
</categories>
</backup-metadata>
The plot thickens :)
@saylinen and other Nokia Staff
I don't care is the software called Nokia Link or Nokia Suite or Nokia WhatEver. As thwint (#60) pointed out, we'd like to share our appointments and contacts with our N9 and our PC. My calendar changes daily but my music in my N9 not even monthly. Someone else is probably shops more music, but I believe that for everyone the calendar is changing most frequently. It is not today's solution, if you have to manually keep the calendars synced. Kale suggested in post #6 to synchronize calender with a cloud service. Even if we forget company data security issues, this would require me to create an account into some cloud service, synchronize my N9 with the cloud service and then try to find a way how to synchronize the cloud service with our corporate Outlook and the same other way round. This introduces one additional step for syncing and more possibilities for conflicts.

Hello, do you think there will be an update of Nokia suite for the compatibility of the Nokia N9 ? Thanks
Hi patrickscalzo72 there's no such plan. Nokia Link is targeted for Nokia N9 users. As you've seen from comments by Pia, for Nokia N9 decision was to use new, lightweight desktop sideloading product.
--
Samuli
i think nokia need to listen to there users and actually get either Nokia Link Suite working or Add the functions for syncing to Nokia Link
regards
abun880007
With the very limited functionality (lightweight?) of Nokia Link it is completely against that what customers want. We bought a high quality device which works quite well OTA but which is almost worthless when a company does not allow synchronizing an Exchange server due to security concerns.
I think Nokia does everything to prevent the N9 to become a very successful phone which sells better than all the announced and published WP crap. This decision which was taken by someone to provide Nokia Link as the only connectivity software for the N9 is absolutely not customer oriented. Nokia was known to produce high quality innovative phones. Unfortunately this time is over.
Dear Nokia, I completely understand the decision providing a lightwight device-to-computer connectivity solution for the N9: smaller footprint, simpler/easier to handle, reduced complexity, multi-platform support... whatever reasons led to this decision - sounds plausible to me.
What I absolutely can't understand is the fact, that the apparently initially existing support of the N9 within the full-blown Nokia Suite, that acts as a single point command center to manage all my Nokia phones, has been de-implemented! I'm willing to spend big money for exciting/interesting solutions and act as first-mover - but I expect at least be treated fair and being taken seriously as a customer: In relation with the N9 it seems to me that Nokia even tries to put deliberately obstacles in the way. The same disgusting story with the assembled but not supported by the software front camera. Such a behavior isn't comprehensible at all for me, sorry.
Provide both solutions but I'm personally convinced that the vast majority of existing Nokia mobile customers will argue for N9 support on Nokia Suite. Please let the customer decide which solution fits best to cover their own needs.
Tx & best regards.
@jose-maria.lopez
Well unfortunately it is all too "comprehensible"...
Mr Elop appears to prefer to sell his windows devices, and wants to kill any serious devices as they could easily be seen as internal competition.
I guess it's part of the $1 billion sell out to MS not to launch anything usable on the US-market... And to maim the usage of existing devices.
Am I paranoid? Well let's hope so, but unfortunately I'm not optimistic enough to think so...
Well, I've already understood that the N9 isn't supposed to be strategic for Nokia - but if build-in components aren't supported by OS (e.g. FM receiver, front camera) and/or the device is "isolated" from existing ecosystems (e.g. Nokia Suite), then I actually get the impression that the N9 is not only "non-strategic" but activelly "forced to fail". I'm really disappointed...
Hey chaps,
I have read every post on this topic here and i have to say that it seems Nokia has indeed made a decision not to include the N9 in the Nokia suite.
Which is totally their decision, But there seem to be alot of people that would prefer to use Nokia Suite for their N9s.
So in the spirit of this web site could Nokia take on board the fact that people have expressed them selves about the N9 and Care Suite and reconsider?
If the answer is still no then Ok these guys are just going to have to accept this. But this is the suggestions board so people are only suggesting.
Cheers

@jmac3009
You CAN use Suite 3.2 with N9, despite of Nokia answers! Just follow the instructions in posts #28-#31 above...
:)
Saylinen I think you still don't understand, that users don't want a tool to sync media files. What they want is a tool to synchronize messages, contacts, calendar .... As long as it does not provide this functionality it is almost useless for most of the users asking for Nokia Suite. I don't care about the name. What I want is just a tool which provides what customers want.
The workaround with an older version of Nokia Suite as described here is a good one, but not every N9-owner is willing or able to follow this workaround. Also I'm pretty sure that Nokia will find a way to turn off this workaround.
Nokia link is a joke. I bought a smart phone which are supposed to sync my work schedule from Outlook, not a basic phone as a USB thumb drive to save media.
PC Suite works with N9 for backups. In fact everything except calendar seems to work.
We need Nokia Link for XP (& Vista). Not everyone uses Windows 7...

Mark
Hi mcullimore,
Read the posts #28-#31 and with a little tweaking you can have Nokia Suite working.
essential troublesome is that not many including myself is not willing to go through so many steps in post #28-#31, especially those who owns more than one devices of Nokia. It has to sacrifice some functions usable to other device. It's funnny how Nokia punishes the most loyal customers.
I speculate the same Nokia Suite doesn't support synchronization with outlook a solely political decision. If an old Ovi version can do that, why not put it into the "link" thing we have now. As long as the work is done, we care less it's called Nokia Suite, "link" or "bing" .
Pls don't let us down again, Nokia!
Cheers,
Nigel
Hello everyone! I got an mail from Nokia care that there will be a new version of Nokia Link i January/February which will support Vista and Windows 7.
Sorry the message are in Swedes (Vi har nyligen fått bekräftat att nästa version av Nokia Link kommer att vara kompatibel med Windows Vista och Windows 7. Denna version beräknas preliminärt att släppas i januari-februari.)
RaySaarni - not to be rude .. .but who really cares? Nokia Link is useless and could be replaced by a 20 row long script. Then it would already support XP and Vista.
The only important thing is ... when will Nokia Suite support Nokia N9???
there is no point in even bothering with releasing Nokia Link .. it's existence is at best questionable.
Syncing media files is hardly rocket science ..
- Set location on both PC and N9.
- Search for supported file types in both locations
- Do a MD5 sum check if the file exist on both locations and are identical, otherwise copy from one to the other..
- If file name exist on both N9 and PC, but MD5 sum does not match, ask a question to user what to keep.
- Possibly give option to rename
...done
Sure Nokia Link also does a backup, but whats the point of that since the backup file format seems incompatible with any other Nokia devices.
You can just as well do a backup on the device it self, and copy the backup file manually (or with a script). You end up with the same thing, a backup that will only work on a Nokia N9
corn911 - sorry, I don't do facebook ... I do http://discussions.europe.nokia.com
@JudaZ & RaySaarni
Without adding more to the discussion on why on earth Nokia insists on not using Suite for N9 (I got my own paranoid opinion on that, vented earlier), then the answer RaySaarni got at least give the N9 users something... And even if far from Suite it is (slightly) better than nothing.
:)
EskeRahn - I don't agree. I think getting nothing, is better then getting Nokia Link :)
Well my Nokia Suite 3.2 runs fine with my N9 now anyways .. no matter what Nokia claim, so personally it does not matter much anymore..
... but as a fan of Nokia and their products, the lack of Outlook sync and general PC support for both Nokia N9, and the Lumia 800 is a huge disappointment.
Sure the future might be in the cloud, but we are not there yet. ...it's the same mistake Nokia has been doing over and over again.. they are innovative and ahead of the times, time and time again .. but then some "genius" gets the idea to jam their future predictions down peoples throats, and they fail. Show the new and let people gradually change over time...
The future that Nokia sees might be in the clouds, but can I please stay on the ground for now? I need to function in the reality that we live in today, not 5 - 10 years from now
So, maybe I'm only half as paranoid as EskeRahn (yet), :-) and yes, maybe the future is bright in the cloud, but in MY OWN cloud - certainly not in the Windows nor in Nokia's and certainly not in the data actopus Google cloud.
I'am repeatedly astonished how careless people deal with their personal data. And then also this technological nonsense: Synchronize your PC calendar via Google to your N9... woa, it's not my world.
Argh... I made a huge mistake and installed the latest beta.
There goes the N9 "support" again.
so Dear Beta Labs will the final version of Nokia Suite 3.3 have support for Nokia N9? Otherwise why bother?
Seems the beta is crap since "Jayzteroid" above just lost the N9 support.
Or is your recommendation to stay clear of updates for Nokia Suite if you want to use your Nokia device with a computer the proper way?
When will you scrap the useless Nokia Link and come to your senses?
Hi JudaZ, Nokia Suite doesn't support (or won't be support in future) Nokia N9. Desktop application for Nokia N9 is Nokia Link.
Nokia Suite is targeted for Symbian smartphones and S40 phones. Nokia Link is for Nokia N9.
--
Samuli
Nokia link can be positioned as a lightweight or entry-level solution and also for Mac users if you like. I also have a N8: Do you think it is really a good solution first forcing me to install/maintain/use two different applications and secondly to be not able to properly synchronize my contacts and my calendar with the N9? What's that for a nonsense? I just can't understand, unbelievable! Please reconsider and turn on the support for the N9 again on Nokia Suite.
@jose-maria.lopez & @saylinen
At the very very very least, IF Nokia insists on two different systems, they should be able to read each others files.
But as jose-maria.lopez points out it is grotesque with the need of TWO systems, especially since it worked with Suite just a sub-version ago, so Nokia have had to actively mutilate something to destroy the N9 support...
Hi jose-maria.lopez, you can sync contacts and calendar using Mail for Exchange in Nokia N9.
--
Samuli
JudaZ - I managed to restore the "support" for the N9 in the 3.2.100 by using the same method as earlier.
Samuli - What do I need to be able to use Mail for Exchange?
Nokia Link doesn't support contacts and calendar sync, but Nokia N9 offers you many other ways to do such syncing. N9 has phone to phone sync support for bringing contacts from your old phone to N9 and for some phones also calendar can be synced. N9 supports Mail for Exchange, Gmail or POP/ IMAP capable mail servers. With MfE not only the email is synced, but you can also sync contacts and calendar for services like Outlook, Windows LiveTM and Gmail. See detailed instructions below.
How to sync contacts, calendar and email with Nokia N9:
Google calendar in N9:
1. On your phone, go to Accounts > Add
accounts > CalDAV.
2. Enter your Google account ‘s username
and password.
3. Enter the needed Server / URL as follows: https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/
4. Select Sign in.
You can now sync your phone’s calendar with your Google calendar.
Outlook & Mail for Exchange in N9:
1. On your phone, go to Accounts > Add accounts >
Mail for Exchange.
2. Enter the email address, username, and password you use with your Outlook account.
3. Enter the domain name your company uses for Outlook.
4. Select Sign in.
You can now sync your emails, contacts and calendar between your phone and the Microsoft Exchange Server that is used with Outlook. Note that you can sync your contacts only with the account that you added first.
Google & Mail for Exchange in N9:
1. On your phone, go to Accounts > Add accounts > Mail for Exchange.
2. Enter the email address, username, and password you use with your Gmail account.
3. Leave the Domain field empty.
4. Select Manual setup.
5. Again, leave the Domain field empty.
6. In the Server address field, type m.google.com. The rest of the settings are default and don’t need to be changed.
7. Select Save.
You can now sync your email, contacts and calendar between your phone and Google account. Note that you can sync your contacts only with the account that you added first.
Windows Live Hotmail & Mail for Exchange in N9:
1. On your phone, go to Accounts > Add accounts > Mail for Exchange.
2. Enter the email address, username, and password you use with your Hotmail account.
3. Leave the Domain field empty.
4. Select Manual setup.
5. In the Server address field, type m.hotmail.com. The rest of the settings are default and don’t need to be changed.
6. Select Done.
You can now sync your email, contacts and calendar between your phone and Hotmail account. Note that you can sync your contacts only with the account that you added first.

This version also supports Nokia N9?
Hi robertop, no, Nokia Suite doesn't support Nokia N9. There's Nokia Link available for Nokia N9 users.

Cheers, Samuli

@robertop
Well even though the OFFICIAL answer is "no", this is not quite the full story, as confirmed by Jayzteroid in post #96 above the known workaround (post #28-31) still works.
@EskeRahn
I read it but I can not find the Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290, someone has the link?
saylinen and kale_, first of all thank you very much for your feedback and detailed explanations.
I'm using Exchange for business puposes, but at home I use Outlook, only because Nokia Suite do not provide support for Thunderbird Lightning. I'm assuming this is not a too exotic constellation. ...by the way, Thunderbird Lightning support on Nokia Suite would be great, independently of readmitting N9.
And as I mentioned in a previous posting, as a principle I do not like at all to feed my personal data into the cloud, and certainly not for the porpuse of keeping my LOCAL infrastructure up to date and in sync - I perceive such an approach as very limiting and highly questionable towards privacy cocerns.
In this context (but not only, Maps & Drive is also such a tiresome story, and missing speech coomands/voice control as well) I ask myself: What is Nokia really doing for ME to make MY life easier?
Certainly: Launching an emotional, outstanding designed high quality device with innovative user interface is a promising and exciting start. :-)
But if I see that this device is neglected and systematically detached/isolated from the existing Nokia ecosystem, then I feel that Nokia do not want to help me, quite the contrary, makes my life more and more difficult.
Do I'm too fixed in my mind and do not see the obvious benefits? Please help me...
Regards,
José
NL's a joke compared to NS, it's even a regression compared to FTM.
I cannot understand the logic in leaving the N9 "out in the cold" w/NL.
At the very least...
Do you plan to aggressively develop NL so that gradually reaches parity with NS?
Moderator joined from Nokia Suite 3.3 Beta for Windows/Discussion/N9 support
Why is impossible work with Nokia N9 in this version???
When we can do this???
Please is necesary to N9 users
Agreed on all counts.
N9, the so called 'flagship' phone.
Cant Sync with current NS.
Requires cloud services to sync.
CalDav/MfE/etc accounts are flaky at best.
Why did syncing work in prior version of Nokia Suite (and it did work FLAWLESSLY) only to be removed when acquiring an auto update to NS????
PS: Dont bother with "Nokia Link" promotional response.
Nokia Link does not perform calendar/contact syncing.
If Nokia Link is raised as fix then clearly Nokia are unable to publish the reasoning for deliberately removing this functionality (roughly equivalent to selling a new, and removing half the accessories while the car is parked in the owners driveway).
and dont forget video calls, flaky accounts connectivity and lack of visual indicators (sadly I am on a branded device, so i will probably NEVER see the update for any of these).
@ChopzN95
On the why it is removed. Well my guess is that it is part of the sell out to Microsucks to prevent anything from Nokia not infected with Windows to be a competitor. Similar they only sell N9 at some markets.
Hi all,
I'm running 3.2.98 beta with my N9, and I can not use Nokia Suite anymore, unless I install the automatic 3.3beta update which I do *not* want since it does not supportthe N9. Anybody knows how to disable that auto update, or which version should work better?
I guess I am the same kind of user than jose-maria: I use MS-Outlook as standalone product, want to sync my Outlook calendar & contacts with my phone in a *direct* connection. Store my 1000+ contacts, and my business/private calendars in the cloud is *not* an option. Is my only option to switch to another vendor (after 15+ years using Nokia phones) ?
--félix
Is there an online poll / petition around, asking Nokia to support MS-Outlook sync in Nokia suite or any other PC software ?
I found this on
http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-suite-3-2-beta-for-windows/discussi...
Installed 3.2.100, Nokia Suite will continue to sync with my N9.
Who wants to start (or started) an online petition for official N9 support in Nokia Suite ?
@fcuringa
As juha.v.lintula points out in the PS of post #31, you should unplug your internet during installation of Suite to keep it from auto-upgrading.
The petition is tempting, but I'm sure it would be in vain - for the above given (paranoid?) reasons...
They wont even sell the N950, and limit the N9 to some markets, so quite unlikely that Mr Elops troops will listen.
This is extremely offensive....
After the N9 I will no longer buy Nokia phones.
For WP phones I'll look elsewhere, & for other OS's elsewhere.
@EskeRahn - there's nothing paranoid in the reasons, why Nokia Suite doesn't support Nokia N9. Nokia N9 team has decided to use Nokia Link as desktop software for their device, seeing that Nokia Link is best match for their device.
@jalyst - sorry to hear your comments. Nokia's Lumia phones (Windows Phones) are working with Microsoft Zune.

@saylinen
I was talking my paranoiac reasoning in regarding Mr Elop as a paid of Troyan Horse of Microsucks.... ;)
@saylinen
Sorry but how can it be best if either does not support the downloading of maps and the software update? Nokia Suites, with the above procedure to install the previous version, remove the connection, start the N9 and recognize Suite before upgrading, it still works, but it's lame!
To update the firmware must always pass (another program) through NSU. Link Nokia is not even that, apart from sync photos, videos and music and more backing ... It seems very simplistic!
Hiya Samuli, good, I'm personally -I assume as like most of the people here- not bound to a specific product, but I want a device that not only looks nice and has a really intuitive UI, but also is suppoting me in everyday tasks efficiently. In my opinion the decision to move toward Nokia Link is quite fine so far - but now it's time to get out of the sheltered laboratory environment and take a look at the real world: The currently most discussed topics arround the N9 are Nokia Suite support and Nokia Maps/Drive lack of functionality. Believe us, there are reasons for.
So, let's put it that way: Are there any concrete plans to add to Nokia Link needed basic funtionality like local sync of calendar and contacts among others?
And friends, once again, have you also considered all the customers who own other Nokia devices additionally to the N9? They all need TWO different apps to manage their NOKIA DEVICES. I would really like to meet the SW architect who has conceived such a strategie... not customer centric at all.
Hi jose-maria.lopez, you can ask questions related to Nokia Link plans in here:

Samuli
@saylinen
This Link versus Suite thing gave me an idea on how to make you understand our frustration by an analogy:
Assume that a company like Peugeot that creates both bicycles and cars has expanded their market to also cover people living in a city "N9". And they then suddenly decided to make a special new bicycle ("Link") just for the people of "N9", and then decided that they will no longer sell new cars ("Suite") to anyone from that city!!! It would still be possible for you to get an older car ("3.0"), and it would even be possible to use that as a trade in to a new one ("3.3") if you found this worakaround, but you could not buy the new one.
I do hope you see both the absurdity and the analogy of that...
There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong in deciding to offer Link to people with N9. The problem is to STOP offering Suite for N9 when it actually do work.
It is also just fine if some parts that do not work with N9 could be disabled, but why on earth stop all the things that do work???
Can any one give me ANY sensible reason for doing so - apart from my paranoid vision of a political decision to make N9 less useful that is?
Best Regards
Eske Rahn
Tx Samuli, did already move to the new "battlefield".
However, at least one question is cross-product related: What is the short-, middle- and long-term strategy of Nokia to manage multiple devices? Using for each device a specific, device-centric application?
@saylinen
I tried to set up Mail for Exchange as instructed with no success. I got error "Mail for Exchange server not responding. Check account settings."
I specified my server settings as I have specified them in my Ubuntu laptop in Thunderbird and these settings are working well together with our Exchange Server. BUT, I can retrieve my emails only when I'm connected to our corporate network or I have a VPN tunneling over a public network.
The result of setting MfE for my N9 was what I expected as there is no VPN to our Exchange server. Could you Samuli explain me how I can make my MfE to work?
@Juha, I asked Nokia N9 product team to help you with this.

Samuli
This is purely political....
There's no technical reason why N9 can't be supported & Nokia Link dropped, "zilch".
Nokia Suite is simply far better, NL has some tiny advantages that can be migrated to NS.
If you continue to prevent N9 owners from using Nokia Suite...
Then you're shafting a segment customers that have been "very loyal" over the years.
N9 is your marquee smartphone, & it'll remain so alongside the 900 (WP Tango).
You have no right to screw your customers over like this...
The hole Nokia Suite thing is a shame - especially since it seems to work fine with an older version. Nokia Link is useless and isn't a replacement at all to NS. Nokia also never managed to make an acceptable Sync-Software for Mac OS which is another shame.
I'm a big fan of Nokia - at least of the Nokia I used to know. That's why I still have my Nokia phones and the wonderful N9. But since Nokia rathers wants to scare customers away than win them, we have to deal with it that our phone isn't supported well. It's scandalous how bad the support is - to use Nokia products you have to have a computer-knowledge which most people don't have.
But I'm enjoying the N9, maybe the last Nokia smartphone. Afterwards I hope f.e Android will give a similar satisfaction, since it seems they do those things right Nokia can't.
@saylinen: For most loyal Nokia users Windows Phone is no option - never heard something exciting about those phones and those squares give a headache. If Nokia would trade their Windows Phones the same as the N9, barely anyone would buy that thing. If people buy Nokia they want Nokia - NOT Microsoft...
@oeloemo
On the last comments, I'm personally quite convinced that the whole point of treating N9 this way is part of the political scheme to keep this obviously(for any objective observer at the least) more interesting device from getting more successful than the windows phones (and for not selling the even more interesting N950)- there is a reason why Microsucks poured a billion into Nokia. One of the least dirty words for it is "befoulment"

Nokia Beta Suite for N9
What are the plans for NBS support for the N9? Nokia Link does not come close to NBS for functionality. The 3.3 Beta does not open for my N9 but the previous version did. I would like to know what Nookia's intentions are for what is arguably the best phone you have produced. I have had to uninstall version 3.3 and re-installed 3.0.0.290 which allows me all the functionality I need. Not the brightest of moves by Nokia.
Nokia is dead to me if they keep pulling all the shit they have been.
Nokia Australia is about to dump the N9 & announce a full L800 program.
The roll-out for the N9 was a joke here, long story, I won't go into it all.
@Nokia
If you think you've nudged your most loyal supporters over to WP by your actions in the last 11mth.
Well... you're horridly delusional...
After our N900/N9/Symbian handsets get too old it's: "Android, iOS, & non-Nokia WP's, here we come!"
And maybe Tizen, if we hear more substantial stuff about it in the next few mths from Samsung/Intel.
You leave us with no choice, you're cowards, too scared to take the boldest routes.

You can also get Nokia Link 1.2 BETA, if you want to try that:

Nokia Suite doesn't support Nokia N9.

Samuli
Nokia Link is useless & disrespectful to N9 owners.
N9 owners are far more technically adept* than Nokia assumes they are.
When will that sink into Nokia's thick skull???
*on average.
@jalyst
I would not expect that to happen before Nokia stops putting all eggs into one Microsucks basket... And don't expect that to happen in a near future.
(I just gave up on Nokia and has started moving things to my new Android phone earlier today)
@EskeRahn: i think Android is a good choice. i still prefer the N9 more but with Android u get a mature system which works great and you get a support in a way Nokia never would give you.
For a certain while i ll be stucked with Nokia and the N9 (as long as i dont decide to buy an expensive contract free phone). Most of the Nokia users i know already gave up on that company. Lots of people are scared to buy Nokia since it most start to realize that as a customer u re treated like carbage by Nokia.
Its great that Nokia Link 1.2 finally gets some necessary functions. NL 1.0 always remained a useless beta version with all the unfinished functions (like deleting media content). its incredible how long it took for this update. Other phone companies provide their customers with satisfying software once a new phone comes out - not month afterwards. But even now the N9 isnt fully supported by its OWN company!
My question isnt "When will Nokia Suite be compatible with N9?" its rather "When will Nokia dissapear from the market?" A sad ü, but more and more coming true fact...
Maybe that explains a lot about the lack of N9 support in Nokia Suite:
http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/business-tech/technology-news/12...
@fcuringa
Ah! Well Microsucks practically did that already by pouring in a billion dollars, and installing their Trojan horse. So yes this would be the next logical step for the Nokia sell out/hara kiri.
Sad news indeed. ;-(
LOL the source for that story is Eldar.
70%+ of the stuff he's spouted in the last yr has been BS.
He has no credibility whatsoever...
Throw enough shit against a wall, & some of it will stick.
That doesn't make him a credible journalist.
At best he's a hack & a spin-merchant.
It wouldn't surprise me if something like that happens this yr.
But I'll wait for a story that cites a more credible source.
"(I just gave up on Nokia and has started moving things to my new Android phone earlier today)"
Support the N9....
Just don't support their WP strategy until they give Maemo6(meego)/Meltemi* some oxygen.
And only if they allow Meltemi to creep into smartphone territory, at least a little bit.
(instead of it being purely an S40 replacement)
A strong Meltemi strategy means more Maemo6x+Qt5+SwipeUX devices, & a more vibrant life-cycle for the N9.
I'll buy another top-end Android soon but I'll never give up on my N9 & N900.
Towards the end of the year it'll be a toss-up between an iP5+ or a WP.
But I won't even consider a Nokia WP if the Meltemi strategy's a joke.
*WTF's happening there, Elop hinted at it months ago, but still we know SFA?!
@oeloemo
Actually support-wise, compared to most Android vendors, Nokia's leagues ahead.
If you define support as a long-tail of sw updates...
This NL fiasco's terrible, but w/LT sw updates/support, it's still among the best.
That there's no offline sync is really an absolute no-go for me to buy a N9 (or a WP7 phone too btw).
Honestly I don't understand your (Nokia's) decision to drop the N9 support in Nokia Suite and I don't buy the cloud story mentioned earlier - there are many people out there that want to (have to!) sync their phone in an offline environment and there are many plausible reasons therefore:
No access to company exchange network, when being abroad (no roaming service -> expensive in Europe, Nokia should know ;)), small/expensive data plans etc.
Why did Apple decide to support offline sync with their iTunes software when they are so hip and so future oriented?
Could you (Nokia) please elaborate in more detail your thoughts on this issue?
Thanks and regards, Stephan
saylinen - so when will Nokia Suite get official support for Nokia N9?
(It does support it, so the excuse that "it is not possible" or "does not work" is not even worth trying with anymore. We all know it works and that the support is disabled on purpose.
and Nokia Link, please don't even suggest it.)
@jalyst: Thanks for the correction of my statement. You're of course totally right. In some parts Nokia has great support. I just recently had a Nokia Store problem and used their feedback function - about 2h later I got a phone call by Nokia where they tried to help me with the problem. That's really great and I was really surprised to get such a fast respond (although the answer to my problem wasn't really helpful).
What I meant is the general feeling of a missing support for the N9 - especially the lack of many functions which make that phone hardly usable for people who don't have the knowledge for all the work-arounds which the N9 needs. I already helped a handful of people to setup their N9 because they didn't get useful answers by Nokia, but that shouldn't be my job.
If Nokia isn't able or doesn't want to have a proper Sync-software and just tells customers to use a (Google-) Cloud Service - i just cannot call that support, software and customer-service wise. The same counts for answers like "Cloud Services is the future, so sync-software isn't needed" but at the same time Nokia sends me a mail that Ovi Contacts will be shut down. No client believes such wrong answers and is left behind with lots of confusion.
If the N9 would be a 50$ phone I'd be ok if there wouldn't be a proper sync-software. But if someone pays so much money for a phone - just the phone is not enough. We're not anymore in the years of the Nokia 3310 where people were just happy with a working phone, nowadays and especially for a smartphone a well working pc/mac software is almost as important as the phone itself. NokiaLink may be good to sync a modern mp3 player, but not one of the most expensive smartphones.
^ Totally agree with regards to this NokiaLink fiasco.
Have to keep everything else in perspective though.
The data's out there for LT support when it comes to the OS/fw.
And there's no doubt that they're solid in that area.
Whether that'll remain true, is yet to be determined.
Hmm, Still no ofering by Nokia to support N9 sync.
N9: Does not sync in Nokia Suite (N95 Did)
N9: MMS (Picture Messaging) doesnt allow use of email addresseses (N95 Did)
N9: MMS only works to primary numbers in contact lists (N95 did any)
N9: Doesnt do VideoCalls which store told me it did (N95 did)
I will be contacting my career, via the telecommunications industry ombusmen if necessary and asking that they take back the phone and resind the contract. The phone DOES NOT perform basic operations that other older phones have been doing for up to 5 years now.
The phone is released with some features which are clearly not even up to standard (see MMS comparisons above for an example).
Another problem with the N9 is that it doesn't connect with rSAP bluetooth carrkits. The Bluetooth profile isn't made pessible to enter for a caarkit.
For android there is made an app that can do that... SO NOKIE PEOPLE??? Can you make the same thing for MeeGo or will it be Mee...NO???
Need this app fast otherwise i will start a search for a new smartphone, and that won't be a Nokia...
@TomKnaeps74: Absolutely! I don't know what the heck Nokia is thinking. I was confused when that didn't work like I expected.
Nokia is really going to far with ignoring their customers... Never ever I will buy anything from them again if they continue like that. If there wouldn't be all those amazing 3rd party apps and modifications, Nokia would be already dead to me.
Thumbs up for all the great Nokia developers who made Symbian and Meego, and generally made what Nokia used to be (and of whom a lot got unjustified fired). For all the rest of Nokia and especially their management and CEO; please dissapear...
WHERE ARE THE DEVELOPERS ???? is this place only made to make complains???
Is this NOKIE CARE(less)???
IF the N9 didn't need another SIMcard than my N8 i would have consired swapping back to my older phone att this moment....
Hi TomKnaeps74 - regarding Nokia N9 and Bluetooth car-kits, especially Remote SIM Access Protocol topic, I recommend you to contact Nokia Care. This forum is dedicated to discussion about Nokia Suite Beta, nothing to do with Nokia N9 car-kit support.
--
Samuli
@TomKnaeps74: Even for Nokia Suite we didn't get real help here. The only ones who helped us, were customers like you and me (the ones who explained how to make NS work with N9) But it's also not the fault of Nokia supporters like saylinen - it was a managemnt decision to not provide Nokia Suite for N9 and they are completely out of mind. But no wonder with such a CEO...
For the car-kit support I would also search or create another thread.
When I got the new sim card for the N9, the telecom company gave me a free adapter where I can put the micro Sim into and use it like a normal Sim card. Ask your phone provider, I'm sure they can help you out and you can use your N8 if necessary.
Nokia isn't anymore in the hands of real Nokia people (expect for the still great developers Nokia has) - it's us fans and users who have to take care of it now ;-)
in #138 Re: 07-01-2012 01:36 JudaZ
wrote that nokia suite supports n9 but its disabled... how many people out there know how to reverse engineer the suite and turn that switch...
Must be more that a switch. Tried the latest beta via bluetooth. N9 recognized, set sync settings, started, worked allright in one direction. All Contacts are now in Outlook. Than connection broke (not by me). Tried to do it again. Would not start. Now I get a message N9 not supported. The same via usb.
But if it works in one direction why not the other?... "Not supported because of management decision..."? Looks like Nokia is afraid of success ;-)
"N9 is a benchmark setter in some design aspects, yet a complete dead end in terms of software ecosystem".
This statement from the Lumia 800 review sums up my experience as a N9 user.
http://www.theverge.com/2011/11/3/2534861/nokia-lumia-800-review
From the discussion here in the betalabs and also in other N9 forums it is clear, that N9 has no future and therefore won't get any support regarding Nokia Suite functionality, etc.
^Riiiight, you'd trust someone who clearly hasn't used the N9 heavily.
There's bucket-loads of apps, enough for even the heaviest users.*
Having huge mountains of apps is vastly overrated...
No normal/sane person has time to buy/trial even a fraction of them.
What's more important is the quality or VFM of the avg app, & the functionality built into the OS.
One thing Maemo6x/N9 has in spades compared to WP7x/L800/900.
That may eventually change come Apollo, but it's not the reality now.

Can you find an app for rSAP as there is for android... some say that android apps possible run on MeeGo....
@TomKnaeps74
I don't have time to investigate this one closely sorry.
I vaguely recall a ticket being raised in the bug-tracker
http://harmattan-bugs.nokia.com/
Maybe try searching it or talk.maemo.org or forum.meego.com?
Or maybe you can find something in the commits?

There's several other locations but I've no time to link to them.
I may be completely wrong...
But I think it's not implemented at a lower level, so apps are irrelevant.
Re Android apps on Maemo6x, never gunna happen.
It's been discussed to death, & in great depth as to why.
Search for some of the threads, and read them.

But message me directly, so as to avoid derailing this thread.

i got Nokia suite running stable with my N9
just deactivate synchronisation of the notes...
Only Nokia Maps doesn't communicate with the N9 phone
One step closer...? now i only neep an app for the remote SIM profile...
@TomKnaeps74
You got it working with the very latest NS builds?
Nice find, you should share it over at talk.maemo.org.
Still, we need official support from Nokia...
As long as they refuse, we must continue to complain.
I may complain to the head of MeeGo apps soon.
@TomKnaeps74:
I just installed NS latest build 3.3.86 - NS continues to refuse to connect to my N9. How did you get NS running stable on your N9? How to deactivate the synchronisation of the notes?
I installed NS 3.2.100 and it runs stable, i.e., Nokia N9 can connect, although I get a message that it is not supported.
Contacts, Messages and Gallery are synchronized.
I could easily ditch the Maps section in the Nokia Suite in order to be able to use NS with N9.
The old installation trick doesn't unfortunately work with the latest version.
I hope some hacker would tick the "support" back on in NS.
@TomKnaeps74
Are you using a 3.3x build or a 3.2x one? If the former...
we need proof & an explanation as-to-how you got it working please.
@pepepez
Yeah but try to get it working with the latest 3.3x builds.
Good luck with that.... :-(
Sam story as pepepez, i use the 3.2.100...
NEXT STEP connecting the N9 with rSAP premium carkit
Great so we're stuck at 3.2x forever for now.
Oh well, it will suffice for quite some time.
jalyst - Its not so bad to use 3.2.x since 3.3.86 didn't bring anything new from a E7 user point of view.
Maybe all improvements has something to do with Nokia Belle.

So N9 was not supposed to work with Nokia Suite, but there was some possibility to make it happen... Now, with the latest suite release you ON PURPOSE killed N9 usability with nokia suite. Why? This is really evil! I payed 700 EUR on my N9, and this is how I am treated. I am more than upset on you guys, to screw N9 users on purpose... I was not expecting that you can go so low, and on my money!!!! Please be decent and find a way to RESPECT my purchase!!
At least "NOKIA Link" has been made available now also for XP and VISTA - released in BetaLabs on Jan, 28.

It would've been far better if they'd ignored that, & focused their limited resources towards NS for the N9.
But that doesn't fit in with their plan of subtly & gradually subverting the N9 in favor of their WinPhones.
Class-A pricks is all they are.
Hey Nokia why abandon your flagship phone?! Is my old favorite company turning into a Microsoft slave? Shame on you. Maemo/Meego is thousand times better than crappy Windows and you know it. Ah, I forgot, boss orders.
F*cking software update: dosn't werk anymore :'(
Nokia FIX IT
concerning n9 support.
Nokia seems to like doing unpopular and weird solutions.
Even when all the customers asking to do this.
Early versions already supported N9 so it is not big task.
where is your logic ????
Let's imagine - I have 2 mobile phones (both from nokia).
I have my own contacts which I'm not sharing with company. I do not wanna share my contacts with Google. Why should I?
among N9 users you will not find any hotmail users. And I do not want to share contacts with microsoft.
so based on your logic I should install my own Exchange ????
are you Kidding ? Nokia Link team do not want to support contacts either.
So seeing this weird behaviour I already started to change phones in my firm to android.
this is just result of this very very weird way of working with customers.
by the way Nokia Pc Suite had variant to synchronise contacts - to have priority of outlook for example. ovi did not have this and 2 version killed a lot of contacts . 3 generation also works quite st... funny way.
Why you killing normal features, making instead something not good working ????

Nokia N9 support
It was not possible to update C6-01 to Belle with the NSU 3.0.671 for mac. Why are you trying to lose clients nokia?
It was not possible to update C6-01 to Belle with the NSU 3.0.671 for mac. Why are you trying to lose clients nokia?
^Um, do you know for a fact that the C6-01 isn't getting Belle?
Or are you simply having issues updating to Belle via NSU?
If Belle is available for the C6-01, then you're just having issues w/NSU.
Which means:
a) You shouldn't be whinging about no support from Nokia for C6-01 owners.
b) You should be starting or posting in a thread about OSX + C6-01 + updating to Belle.
This thread has zilch to do w/your issue, it's about Nokia Suite supporting the N9.
Try to improve your reading comprehension skills...
Installed 3.4.16 beta – no N9 support either official or unofficial :(. When it detects N9 says use Nokia Link instead. I have to reinstall 3.2.
GOODBYE NOKIA and all the best for the future..
I am tired of waiting for a Nokia Suite support for my N9.
I will keep my N9 as a collector (my last Nokia phone, maybe also the last 'made in Europe' sadly..) and search for a Smartphone with a direct USB/Bluetooth Outlook sync. capability.
I have some business needs that this company does not consider important, that's life and I understand. Bye.
Does annyone have a link where to download the older version 3.2.xx (version that works whith N9)???
Maybe i'll try to install this version OR maybe whitin some weeks i will use my N8 again when it's back available from my previous job... N9 RIP!!!
Within some weeks i'll get a Blackberry (job related phone)... maybe this wil also be my next phone for private use when i like it... and byebye Nokia...
It seems that Nokia doesn't care all the lost customers or that they don't read this forum???
The given links on http://www.allboutn9.info/2012/01/nokia-suite-with-n9-windows.html should still work. I've just reinstalled Nokia Suite a couple days ago. No Nokia actually wants to loose customers and does it in mass. Why...nobody really knows. But hopefully you can enjoy your last Nokia phone!!
No Nokia Suite support isn't a good enough reason to ditch the N9.
It's possible to cover everything NS does w/o having to use NS.
But that can be a PIA & it's an insult for them to just ignore N9 owners.
juha.v.lintula - Have you managed to turn off update notification that has no option to keep using 3.2.100?
After a painfully boring Regedit session I managed to tweak off the obey or die -function and start NS with N9.
The key I tweaked was:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia\Nokia Suite\{55C272E5-541F-406b-A458-5149CB9715FB}\Updates\NOS
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROCEDURE.
^So this is just to disable auto-update?
I hope someone works out how to get the latest builds working with the N9.
I don't like our chances, especially as we move further away from 3.2.100.
