i want to sync my Lightning Calendar with my mobile. I can't understand, why this should be a problem. The Calendar is able to handle ICS-standard.
If the n97 mini is not in the position to handle this, i'll will choose an iPhone next time...
Mozilla Thunderbird, Firefox and Lightning are standard (and freeware!), so please, integrate it
...and Ovi Calendar 1.6 Product Manager is not a good way!

i have Nokia 6220 classic. i also want to sync it with Thunderbird / Lightning.
Nokia ovi is a great software, but i cant understand, that you don´t integrate lightning.

Other (commercial) software-tools are able to handle the standard ics-calender-files. Why not the nokia-software?!
This is long pending. It is high time Nokia provided a solution to sync the phone with Thunderbird/Lightning. I don't use Outlook and never will.
This was also been pushed by many users when ovi suite was released. I suggested in my survey that if the ovi calendar server was caldav we would easily be able to sync to lightning/sunbird.
I too make use of Thunderbirds plugin lightning and before that made use of sunbird. However I personally think thunderbird is also a little bit outdated when it comes to options and the looks of the UI.
In case there will be a solution to sync Nokia <--> Thunderbird's lightning, I will make use of it too. But in case the Organiser of Nokia which is now in Beta will provide sufficient options, I'm glad to step over :-).
gqueues by google is a great web based todo application too btw.

Yes I'm making use of Thunderbird 3.
As far as I remember, that's also the version were as they introduced the implementation of Lightning.
I been using it as my main calendar and before the implementation, I made use of Sunbird. However with Nokia's development with the beta version and with Googles gqueues which can be used from within googles calendar, I now just use it a bit like a dairy.
I've actually been looking all over the net for GTD appz.
Handy calendar to me just looks awefull and is expensive too.
Applications like Things and Awesome Note which are for the Mac/iPhone imo look astonishing. However I don't have an iPhone and personally I think when it comes to hardware, my 5800xm is a better product. I just hope to see more applications in the future for my mobile. Especially a good GTD application and a good E-Book reader.
I personally don't like firefox 3 or thunderbird 3. It's gotten quite bulky however, the UI is ok. I switched over to Seamonkey which use to be the Mozilla suite. It's a browser, email, chat all in one suite. Still runs the same stuff from firefox 3 and thunderbird 3 though. It's only a little bit lighter. I have installed the lightning add on to my Seamonkey. Unfortunatly, there is no way to sync my calendar from my nokia phone still.
The iphone email and calendar applications aren't that great. IMAP folder subscription isn't supported on iphone/ipad. The calendars don't show the event titles. It just shows a little triangle in the corner of the day to tell you there is an event.
I use to use google calendar and goosync to sync everything but goosync is no longer free. I am not a big fan of google. Their privacy policy disturb me.
All we can do now is wait for nokia to develop sync with lightning/sunbird. They are listening and I know it is on their to do list. We just got to be patient.
Today I cleaned out my Ovi accounts because I wanted to see if I was able to sync input from the beta organiser and because I wasn't able to remove my DevilisM profilename. No longer wanted to be displayed as DevilisM since it's just a name for online gaming. However still didn't succeed syncing from beta version. :-/
Today I been playing around with GoogaSync which seems to work great for my agenda entries. However, I can't seem to get my tasks from within the agenda to Sync. Neither do the tasks from Gqueue show up even tho it is displayed in the options menu of GoogaSync.
I been sending them a message asking about the support of syncing tasks. In case it's possible to sync tasks from the agenda as well as GQueues, I am more than happy to pay a fee of € 17,90 to make use of GoogaSync.

The Ovi Calendar is working fine for me even tho I still would like to see Sub Tasks implemented. Since I don't really share my calendars and tasks, it covers all I need. However I can imagine that in case you're a person who shares his calendar with several people and not only Nokia mobile owners, it would be nice if Nokia would be the one making sure google & thunderbird calendars are supported one way or the other and preferably for free.
Nokia concerning GTD applications is way behind their competitors.
I mean Android supports all google applications.
iPhones owners have atleast 5 good GTD applications which are either free or can be bought for a small fee.

GoogaSync is really good but don't solve the Thunderbird Lightning problem :-( Today i see two path:
1) wait for nokia (i try to configure TB3 with Funambol and OVI but TB after synchronization fall down - HOWTO: click in ovi to manage device, send settings, click on see setting manualy - this date put to TB)
2) use pay services like goosync

Me too. It is incredible,new app development such us ovi calendar dosnt works with such open extended solutions.
