Yes, your data will be imported and you can start using the new features of Ovi Calendar 1.6 with your existing events, notes and to-do items. Please note, though, that if you make changes with Ovi Calendar 1.6 Beta, you will be changing this data. - Which calendar will my existing events, notes and to-do items be associated with in Ovi Calendar 1.6?
When you update, your existing events, notes and to-do items will be associated with the category you created when you signed into Ovi Calendar 1.6 for the first time. The default name for this category is “My Items.” - Can I associate my existing events, notes and to-do items with different calendars or with new categories that I create?
Yes, it’s easy to change the calendar or category with which your events, notes and to-do items are associated. Select the item and at the top of the display area, you will see the calendar or category your item is currently associated with, surrounded by its display color. To change the calendar or category, just use the drop-down and select the name of the new calendar or category with which you want to associate it.

When you first sign in to Ovi Calendar 1.6, you’re asked to choose a name for your default calendar. The default name is “My Items”. There is also a category created called “Ovi and me”. It contains helpful hints to familiarize you with some of the new features of Ovi Calendar 1.6. - Can I change the names of these calendars or delete them?
Sure -- it’s easy. You can manage calendar settings by either clicking on the triangle to the right of the calendar you want to edit and selecting “Edit” or clicking “Settings” in the left-hand navigation of the Calendar webpage and selecting the “Advanced” tab. - How can I control which calendars or categories of notes and to-do items are displayed?
To show only one calendar or category of notes and to-do items, just click on it in the left-hand column of the Calendar web page. In general, selecting which calendars or categories are displayed is as easy as checking or unchecking the boxes next to each one.

We are currently experiencing intermittent problems with device synchronization of Ovi Calendar data. Affected users will receive an error message that says, "Sorry, we couldn’t retrieve your device's information. Please try again." While they are affected, users will be temporarily unable to synchronize calendar data to their device or add a new device for synchronization. We are aware of this issue and working to fix it.
Sharing calendars or categories of notes and to-do items
- How do I share a calendar or category of notes and to-do items with someone else?
You can initiate a share in a few different ways. You can:
a. Click the triangle next to the calendar or category name in the left-hand column of the Ovi Calendar web page and select “Share this”.
b. Click the word “Share” below the list of your calendars or categories.
c. Click “Settings” in the left-hand navigation of the Ovi Calendar web page and choose the “Advanced” tab.
In each case, you’ll then be prompted to add the people you would like to share with by adding them either from your address book or by entering their e-mail address or mobile number. - What gets shared?
When you share a calendar or category of notes and to-do items, all the events, notes and to-do items associated with that calendar or category will be shared with the people you specify. - How will I and the people I share with be able to view our shared items?
After you initiate a share, the people you’ve chosen to share with will receive an invitation by e-mail or SMS, depending on the contact information you’ve entered for them. When they accept the invitation, they’ll be directed to sign into their Ovi account or create a new one. Once they do this, the information you have shared with them will automatically be added to their Ovi Calendar and can be synced to their device. As either of you updates the items in your shared calendar or category, the changes will be reflected in Ovi Calendar for both of you. - Can I share and sync calendars with users of other calendar applications?
Sharing and synching of calendars with users of other calendar applications is not currently supported.
