Tried to install The Support File from both the website adn !Download and received "Update Error" message.

Do I need to uninstall Nokia Internet Services Support Package 1 v1.07(5) as I beleive this was the support package for the previous version of Contacts and I had already uninstalled Contacts due to not having any (Contacts that is).

But this is used by Conversation v8.40(0) along with Phonebook Extension Manager DLL v1.00(0)

Re-installed Nokia Internet Services Support Package 1 v1.07(5) and Contacts on OVI - Keyspace v1.00(0) and Contacts on OVI v1.00(0).

Then re-tried the new install. still not joy. Same error message "Update Error".

Tried uninstalling Contacts on OVI v1.00(0), Contacts on OVI - Keyspace v1.00(0) and Nokia Internet Services Support Package 1 v1.07(5). Still get the same error message in install attempt.

sounds like u have only one solution for this! hard reset!

Before installing the new version I only removed ovi contacts from application folder. Then i installed support files and then the ovi contacts.

I had the same problem on N95 v31.0.17. Uninstalling Conversations (v8.4) together with its companion Phonebook Extension Manager DLL and restarting the device a couple of times fixed the "Update error" issue you describe. However now Phonebook Extension Manager DLL doesn't install and fails with the same message. I guess Conversations should be updated to work with the same helper programmes as Ovi Contacts.

Yes, indeed the conversations app and our app uses the same utility package. Apparently the versions that are being used by our app and the Conversations are different, and that creates the problem.

I'll try to put this one forward, as it seems to cause problems.

I miss Nokia Conversation. I hope we get it back again. Had to make the choice between checking out a new software version of OVI Contacts or continuing to use Conversation.
