Ovi Contacts stopped working on N97

I installed Ovi Contacts and it worked very well for a while but today, it is refusing to work.

Once I'm online, it would quit the moment I click on the "Ovi" tab in Contacts and take me back to the Home Screen.

Clicking on the Ovi Contacts icons results the same as well.

Rebooted the phone, no improvement.

I uninstalled Ovi Contacts and reinstalled it from SW Update but it did not seem to improve the situation.

It runs ok if I'm not connected, but the moment I connect, it quits spontaneously.

This situation is consistent and repeatable.

You could try uninstalling the new version 1.20(1), which is only downloadble via Software Update for some reason and try the latest beta version downloadble either from the betalabs site or from the link to the OVI Contacts download site. It is a lower numbered version, but has always worked for me.

Might just do that for now.

The odd thing was it was working "perfectly" for a while until this morning when another buddy accepted my connection. Then a bit later, it just didn't want to say running.

Perhaps there is a corruption in one of its preference or data files, I don't have X-Plore and I'm avoiding a reset.

I just removed 1.20(1) and downloaded 1.01(0) and installed it.

It is having the exact same problem and since it knew all my settings when I first launched 1.01(0), I'm suspecting that I really do have some corrupted data or preference file which the app or supporting apps are looking at and not liking.

These files are certainly not removed since it knew my password, account name, etc.

I'm really trying not to do a reset, anybody knows where data files for this app might be stored so I can go manually remove them?

Ok, I just did a Hard Reset on the phone in an attempt to clear up any bad files.

To my dismay, the problem is still not fixed and now I've lost two Ovi Store purchases that will take time to replace from Ovi :(

My suspicion now is that the problem is related to an issue to data coming from the server rather than what is on my phone that is causing the crash.

Really at a loss here. Hope someone from BetaLabs can help.
