after downloading the latest released client of ovi contacts (non-beta version) for my e72 which has the latest firmware "31.023", i tried to install it and it gives me this message after the installation bar has got to less than a quarter "Unable to Install" and it does exactly the same with the latest beta version, but when the bar fills a quarter. And if u were wondering, yes i uninstalled the previous beta version of ovi contacts, restarted my phone, and set my theme to basic (cause i thought maybe its still running, thats y is not installing) because i thought it would solve the problem, but it didn't. Plz reply asap with the solution, my gf is going crazy she needs me online all the time. Thank u in advance.
Can anyone tell me what is version of this "graduate" Ovi Contacts?
And is there any changelog?

graduated from where? This app dosent support well all the phones and have a lot of bugs...
Many of the S60 3rd dont have any support, if you update your phone to the latest firmware it dosent work anymore and you cant download it from the page they specified... You need a lot to become a comercial product

Thanks for the comments. In terms of features, the commercial release is similar to the last beta client, the differences are at the enabler side.

Well well, Nimbuzz or Fring are far much better that this client. Nokia have enough power to make a far much better XMPP client that this peace of .....
Nokia bought QT, developed native XMPP client on Maemo, developed SIP Plugin for S60, and for some reason cant develop XMPP voice support on S60 where out there are lot of 3rd party clients that also support video ??!

Go and spend your money in our new shine toy, a new HighEnd Linux/MeeGo Mobile.
Otherwise, continue spending your money with PSTN Corporcrime networks partners.
PS: This OVI-CONTACT Client is so bad that even not reconnect if you loose 3G signal.
Is a good app, But I can't download in my N95.

This app is so useless that cant reconnect when loose connection. When 3G is available keep asking and asking...
Also the chat windows is ugly, its white and should be transparent, like fring or nimbuzz.
But beside "the reconnection inconvenient" there is another big issue. NOKIA dont want to enable VOICE over XMPP. :)
You can keep asking this feature and they will look to other side...
They dont represent us, they dont make mobile for US !

I can't explain why because I don't speak English, but I preffer ovi contacts instead BB messeger a LOT.
it doesnt support n95-3 ??? I mean c'mon... how they "graduate" an app that it doesnt have support for many s60v3 phones... Does nokia really think ppl is gonna buy a new phone just to use an app... plz fix this
I have a Nokia N79 and I downloaded Ovi contacts and Works perfectly following the instruction of installation.
The bad thing is that nobody have ovi contacts and I don't have many friends yet :(
But I'm happy with my phone is complete, light, it have wifi, GPS, maps, really good super cam!
If anybody want to buy a cellphone I recomend Nokia N79

@fireddy: Very nice, but out there are lot of CHAT Clients with not only Voice, also VIDEO CALL, file sharing, and so on. (Fring-OctroTalk-Nimbuzz-Talkonaut,etc)
Tell me why Nokia is focusing on useless features like "Camera features" instead of SELLING OPERATIONAL PHONES, with XMPP VOICE CALL, FILE SHARING, etc.
Its sad, but they dont represent my interest. They are representing the Telecos interest.

where is the version for N8????? really nokia starts to isolate itself from new technologies and I think I will get rid of my N8 and get Blackberry just for the BBM app ...
I think you should buy an ANDROID based smart-phone. In ANDROID 2.3 you will have XMPP native chat and Voice & Video call over Internet.
Xmpp = Google Talk, Jabber, OviChat, GMX, Jabbim, Talkonaut, facebook, and many corporates use XMPP.
Take a look to XMPP and you will find more that your are imagine.
Don't be slave of propietary IM like BB, it will really slave you and your colleagues.

@glococo: I downloaded fring and I couldn't send files, photos or voice messages Maybe were the connection or country restrictions, but is not the most better application of this world I didn't like, I intalled facebook and windows live messenger series s603rd (note: facebook don't have chat only photos uploader)
Come on! I want a really good photo, I don't like a dark picture of bb device and upload it to facebook only to everybody tell, who is? I have a quick cellphone, and super fast internet I saw my emails and sent everything that I want
and of course I would like that Nokia wont have country restrictions to download the last version of software to my phone and a best application of messenger to surprass bb messenger and everybody can download
@fireddy: Fring is not XMPP, only support gTalk very bad. Same as nimbuzz.

but when you actually READ the information, it says it is ZERO bytes long, and indeed it CANNOT DOWNLOAD.
THIS MEANS NOONE CAN GET IT, and NOONE CAN USE IT!
Please respond, please fix this, so that we do not need to find alternative mirrors to use OVI CONTACTS
