I have installed Ovi Contacts. I'm not able to connect to OVI CHAT after I have entered the same user id and password as that of my OVI account. I use NOKIA 5800 XM, V 30.0.011

From what network are you using the client from?

I have exactly the same problem on my 5800 XM v 40.0.005 with Ovi Contacs 1.20(11). I would be using 3G network for connection, but it feels that Ovi Contacts is not even trying to connect since I have set "Internet" (3G) network connection to "Always ask" and I will not get the question; it does not even matter which user name or password I type, it always just returns to Ovi Contacs display without any change.

@s5bool: What version of OVI Contacts are you using on each phone?
What are the phone product codes also? (It is on a label in the battery compartment of your phones and is a 7-digit number starting with zero.)
Works on my N97 (product code: 0585262) and have transports set up to chat with MSN and AIM.

@s3bool: When you add someone you should get them added to the bottom of your list with "Waiting for accept." or somwething next to them. I assume this is what you are not getting.

Okay, I got it to work. I needed to connect first time via my WLAN at home, then it worked also via 3G.
The remaining problem now is that my invitations doesn't seem to go through. I have invited friends who have also @ovi.com addresses but they don't receive invitations. When I invited friend who has @gmail.com address, that worked just fine. But this is another issue and not really under this topic anymore...

well i wanted to try again and installed 2.00(18) on my updated e72. i cant connect to any network. it says sth like "sorry authorization not given"
