Using XMPP extension for location sharing?

Hi,

Apologies for the technical question, but are you using the proposed XMPP extension (http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0080.html) for the location sharing featuring of Contacts on Ovi? I know it's still technically a 'Draft', but it'd be great if you were one of the first to be supporting it. With Google having announced Latitude, they can't be that far off from implementing it in Google Talk.

If there can be an agreed standard on location sharing, so that it works across handsets/operators/servers, the chances of this actually being useful will be a lot harder. As it is, I'm pretty much sharing my location with thin air...

i hope your right. Google seem very good at embracing open standards so nokia need to be offering the same level of openness. i don't mind signing up to ovi if it offers me something extra but i don't like being forced into creating an account just to use a service. i think i'm right in thinking all thats needed to use google talk is any email address then that becomes your user name. a very clever way of getting users onboard.
