Finally there is an update!. I have to confess that the prior version (1.00) kept disconecting, even more that it happened with nokia chat. So it was frustrating for me and the group of users that i had. Result?, Nobody is online. Bad news.

Another result?, all my friends, and even myself, are using Nimbuzz and Palringo. Specially palringo, that is very good keeping the connection alive and reconnecting when it goes down, and the location feature is very easy to use. In fact it uses gps, cellid info and ip geolocation info. I'm not trying to bother you with comparisons, just want to show some facts.

This product has to be always on line, at least in a scheduled time frame, and I repeat, just as is in Nokia Messaging.

I get that 1.06 version should be a bug fixing version. But, the connecting thing is very, very, very annoying. I can't stress enough the fact that it is annoying. What is the point of a messenger tool when it is offline when you expect the opposite?

Look, I am a nokia fan, so i try almost all the products, but this one is far behind from where it should be. I'm eager to use this product as my main mobile IM solution.

Sorry folks, I know you work hard, but someone has to shake you up!. Since nokia chat it has been more than a year..., I hope that the next releases have more to say and really really really, make the product ALWAYS ON LINE.

I also have to say it is a bit frustrating that Ovi contacts doesn't try to keep online: once disconnected, you've got to reconnect manually, which is confusing. Most people would expect to "connect" then leave it alone the whole day, not keep checking if it's still online or you need to reconnect.

WOW Palringo is really something, location data and support for every IM protocol out there including facebook chat! i thought OC was unique in using location data! looks like the competition has taken a strong lead and left nokla wondering what just flew by them!

I agree - everytime I go into the subway, it doesn't reconnect.

What's worse is Ovi Contacts shows me as being online even though I'm offline.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. That said, I have to say that this problem is something I haven't been able to reproduce.

I think Jamaal's report is something to work on further. So, we'll keep travelling on subway, until we figure it out.

ok, so I also have this issue.
i have presence set to broadcast location every 20 mins
auto connection, wifi and gprs
the phone is also set to auto switch between 2g and 3g
does everyone else with this problem have similar settings?

1. When you are connected via Wifi and you get away from the wifi area, if you make a phone call (a long one), it doesn't get online again.

2. If you are using the GPRS connection and make a long phone call (more than 2 minutes), the same thing happens.
