Good review, I share many of the same sentiments.

The only point I disagree with is the 'always connected' complaint as that's something that can't be avoided.

Another issue I have is that often times I cannot open a chat window from the main screen. I click the name and nothing happens.

I like the fact that this app integrates with my contacts to tell me who's online...A+..

I prefer the new E75 Nokia Messaging that my wife is able to use. It's a far better experience.

I love the new N97 Homescreen widget, in as much as when I have fully integrated it with contacts and then add those contacts to my homescreen favourite contacts it shows their availability on the homescreen of my N97. Haven't had the pleasure of trying the new E75 Messaging, but I do love OVI Contacts on N97.
