here's a thought, I've been messing about with this app during breaks at work and then i always forget to close the app. but by home time my battery is dead. so how about having an option to close the app after a predefined time if no activity has occurred?

Hmm.. it's worth to think about, although it may be that most will find it complicated to manage. For tech savvy people, that's obviously manageable.
Tricky bit is balancing with: stay always connected to be reachable, vs. optimize battery.
