Any chance OVI Contacts could use some of the Push set-up from Nokia Messaging. Would be pretty cool for lomnger conversations to utilise a 30 minute / 1 hour refresh so that the app doesn't need to have a permanent on connection. Wouldn't be ideal ni all circumstances but would reduce battery drain.
This way you could be select to be semi-signed-out (for want of a better description) in this mode you would not have to have a permanent on connection, but the app would check every (insert time period here) for any new conversations or updates. This way the user would not need to be signed in with a permanet connection to know if they have a message.
I would love to see this. How do others feel?
