Hi there,
Not sure on the Forum/Discussion rules on suggestions, so I'll only start one post for my suggestions. Apologies in advance if this is not the correct way to do it.
1. When you hide the chat client and get a new msg, you only get an alert tone and the little balloon icon in the top right hand corner. It would be nice to get a msg notification similar to an SMS notification, that when you click on it, takes you straight to the discussion. This is much better than having to go to Contacts, then moving over to the OVI tab. I'm not sure if it's worth noting that on my N80ie Chat Client (the built in S60v3 client), this functionality did exist).
2. The screen saver does not show the balloon icon with a number next to it indicating that an Instant Message has been received. Similar to point 1 above, SMS notifications (as well as e-mail notifications) do show up in the screen saver, and I'm pretty sure that the N80ie Chat Client used to show a baloon icon in the screen saver. Particularly useful if you step away from your mobile, since you would not have heard the Chat Alert
3. I'm sure some other users already suggested this, but the ability to send attachments would be a big bonus - even if limited to a small size.
4. A PC Suite Client would be fantastic - my phone is usually connected via Bluetooth to my PC at work for synchronisation, and it is very convenient to be able to view and respond to SMS' via the PC Suite SMS Client. So why not a PC Suite Chat Client, with a balloon pop-up that opens the client and alows you to respond?
5. Email hyperlinks (e.g. you@here.com) do not work with Nokia Messaging, only with the built in e-mail client. Since Nokia Messaging is part of Nokia's overall e-mail solution strategy, this might be worth integrating.
By the way, running on N85, FW 10.045....and yes, I love technology. This seems to be a solid chat client, but with plenty of room for improvement. Keep up the great work.
Regards,
travla
