Right now, the Display pic is showed every time a message is received. So even if the person I am chatting with sends me 4 messages and all of them are small enough to appear on the screen at once, I'll be shown his DP along with every message.
Instead, why not club the 4 messages under one DP, and differentiate them by keeping them in their own balloons.
