It needs to add History & display the last few messages of Hisotry with a contact

Suggestion for Ovi Contacts

Since this is a mobile application, i feel this is an essential feature. I keep it signed in to my WiFi network all the time, even when i am not in a mood to chat. This way, my friends can drop me messages without having to SMS me. But whenever i move out of the WiFi zone, the connection is lost and the messages are lost too!

To be able to be truly mobile, i would like to see a History feature, or atleast a feature to display the messages i have not read or seen yet. Carry over the unread messages of the last session to the next session please.

Agree with both -- I'd love to see the history feature soon in the product too. That said: would you more prefer a history of all messaging, or just the latest?

Here the scenario which needs to be addressed -

I login to Ovi Contacts. Leave it on my desk or in my pocket. Roam about. I have messages being sent to me by my friends, which i have not yet checked. Now while i am moving around, Ovi Contacts disconnects & reconnects various times.

Now when i take a look at Ovi Contacts, i should be able to check all the messages i received since the last time i checked them.

I don't think we need all the history, just the unread messages history or something similar should be fine.

I had this weird thing happen to me today.
Chatting wit buddy, app crashed. so i rebooted device.
logged back in, clicked on the contact and the whole chat reappeared. Not for him though he was on a fp1 device.
BUT, it also crashed for him.......so it seemed to be a server side error.
Funny but got the history.
Maybe a feature added to the server already.

In the phone: an option to set how many messages would be available per chat
In the server: whole history of all chats, so I could check what did I promise a year ago.

It would be nice if we could have a choice whether to see the latest chat log or the complete log.

imagine; when u open the chat page ull see the last conversation and there is an option which says view full archive.
