I'd like to see automatic location and presence update to website. Like my own blog or Facebook. Maybe Ovi Contacts status-message could be paired with Facebook -status (optionally)?
It would take the social networking to the next level, when your phone is actually automatically changing your status in places like Facebook, that everyone is using :)
I'd like to see at least discussion about these things.
I agree; all presence services should really be able to use the same presence and location messages.
Personally, I'd like the integration of location and presence with Ovi Contacts (mobile), the Mobile Web Server (which also has these info pieces), and then the ability to export presence and status to other services that can utilize this.
A use case could be:
- open Ovi Contacts on mobile
- change status message, enable location via GPS
- select a menu option named "Share"
- submenu item that says "Share with Contacts," "Share with Web Service"
- click on "Share with Contacts" and it will send either an SMS or IM that yout status and/or location has changed to those specific contacts
- click on "Share with Web Service" and you get an option of authorized web services to share this information with (this assumes that like Flickr authorization, one can authorize Ovi to edit status and location information for those services)
The other side of this would be a person after seeing your status or location change from those other services, being able to see a public facing Ovi profile page (or Mobile Web Server presense page, hint hint, hehehe) that they can interact with you towards, see a map of where you are, etc.
That kind of integration would be what would work best, and would be ideal for such a service.

Clearly, you guys have seen the same vision that I foresee. Let's see what we can do to make this happen.
That said, I've seen a number of XMPP bots and like services that do exactly this sort of status update aggregation to social networks. Try the FriendFeed with IM alerts for instance (works with Ovi Contacts nicely). It is already a step towards the direction.
