Hi,
I think on FP1, we still do not have enhanced presence like music listening, brodcast scenes.
When do we get that ?
again step motherly treatment to FP1( not so old also)

Not all features are possible to implement on FP1 (or older), I understood. There is no reason to artificially limit the feature set.
Although i agree that not all the features can be supported on FP1, i think music listening should not be impossible?
Am on FP2, wasn't aware the FP1 was being limited in features.
Hi,
Thanks for quick comments and thats what i was expecting.
I really wonder sometimes why they release these FPs? and worst thing is you can't upgrade your device. Windows mobile is better in this sense.
Anyways I feel this is always case with Nokia, they forget their own devices quickly labeling them as OLD.(N93,N70,N73,N82....)

i totally agree. Why are the features not being made for fp1 devices... Is it a way from nokia to make sure we buy the newest n series? N96? No thanks my n95 is better then that? And i just bought a brand new e71 with fp1 because i cant find an n series thats signifantly better then the n95.
I somehow doubt that those features just wont work. if your nokia is hacked you can even take the "fp2 transitions" from the n96 and put them on the n95 or any other phone . And they will work fine
Hey,
I feel your pain :-)
It would be probably feasible to do the Music feature on top of the FP1 too, but we decided to have it in the FP2 first. This decision was done for two reasons: a) we had the FP2 version in the making for so long, that we wanted the people who got that to feel extra special and b) we have only so few people working on this, that we can't unfortunately do everything all at once.. so we sometimes need to prioritize.
We'd love to hear your input on how you like the music sharing feature overall.. is it something you'd use? how often? how important is it?
.. after we know these things well enough, we can see if our scarcely resourced team can do it for FP1 too.
There were some other reasons why we had to do lots of stuff again for FP2 version (like the updates to phonebook, etc.).
Thanks for understanding.

Kristian,
Many Thanks for some update and logical reasoning.
I appreciate efforts of your team on this nice little chat application. I just wanted to have more features available to more number of devices.
Personally I like to use Music sharing, I use it while chatting from PC, Gtalk, Yahoo messenger. Its nice way to show your friends.(Your mood too !!!)
I hope that Contacts on OVI goes on become popular chat application on Nokia Phones and some features are already generating interest.
In Future, i wish Nokia puts more resources in your team and does improve application in many ways.

I dont undertand... I mean, I undertand the whole we-want-to-sell-more-FP2-phones reason, it logical - not fair, but logical. But the other part is a total crap! CoO is based on XMPP and music sharing is just a special extension to it, so this isnt a problem. And Mobbler is able to get what is now being played and the code for this is the same for FP1, FP2 and pre-FP so this shouldn't be a probllem too! It's all rounds up to just a copy'n'paste with some minores fixes in the code.

nokia best selling messenger device is the nokia e-71 and guess what nokia while they had FP2 they decided to realease it as fp1 with some fp2 features but still a fp1, so you are crippling the best selling nokia device and the best messenger device the company has...
and im a n82 owner but for me doesnt make any business sense the nokia e71 should be a BB killer with a killer app and you guys are giving the guys with the e-71 a crippled ovi contacts
I have a Nokia E71 and I can't use the features of the FP2 because my cellprone have FP1. I don't like it, NOKIA What are tou thinking???? I from Venezuela.... :D
