...and seems I'm not alone....
There is a checkbox below the username / password input fields. Did you check this?
Not on mine there isn't. No check box and the point is it will not login. I have tried more than 20 times now. Using both qwerty and T9 in case it has that unusual bug where qwerty is not recognised.
I have reinstalled the widget and followed the instructions to the letter
installed maps beta, downloaded finland and installed. Installed widget and put on homescreen. When connecting it automatically knows my Nokia account. It then asks for my facebook account details. Which I input and it attempts connection and fails everytime. At no point in this process does it ask for me to select automatic login
After submitting the status update, I logged onto the N97 FB app. The ovi lifecast update was my latest update, but I wasn't able to click on the provided link. Can only comment. On my macbook I can click on the link on my FB page.
Ovi Lifecast works I guess :)
If you are using OVI Contacts or have used it you need to open OVI Contacts and remove your OVI Contacts profile and then set-up OVI Lifecasting again.

Hi mate
You have to be kidding me - Can you use ovi contacts after its set up? or are the two completely incompatible
My configuring stops after nokia account username and password input:
Select where you are
(no data)
No can do....

mbrett is right, you need to remove the Ovi account from Ovi Contacts to get Lifecaster working. After you've got Lifecaster working, you can also continue using Ovi Contacts.
I have done all the above and have the same problem. Fails to connect with Facebook. I uninstalled Ovi contacts and deleted my profile account in case it was causing problems. In my Installed applications I have a Contacts Group DS Plugin version 1.11(0) instaleed which is 7k. Is this anything to do with Ovi contacts that needs to be removed or something different? I dont want to mess my mobile up removing unknown applications or files.. Thanks
Re-install OVI Contacts and then re-boot your phone and start contacts. Go to the OVI Contacts tab and to settings. Go to accounts an dselect remove account and exit OVI Contacts.
OVI Lifecasting should now work.

mbrett THANKYOU. Working now after reinstalling OVI contacts then deleting account. Thanks
Hi,
we apologize for these inconveniences...
Soon you will be able to lifecast and use Ovi contacts without any further incompatibility problems.
The program works just fine for me.
I am interested to know where the location information is coming. It rarely seems to actually bring up the place I am at in the list. Maybe if it used google maps or something it would work better.
Also when adding a picture, it seems to post it on facebook as two seperate posts. Can it be consolidated so that location, map, and picture appear as one post?
Hi guyver2077,
when you lifecast, you should always be able to see the address you are at (if under GPS coverage) or at least the area (if only network positioning is available).
The list is populated then with the closest Ovi Maps POIs and Ovi Maps favorites (if you have any).
As discussed several times in other threads, it's not currently possible to add a picture to a Facebook status update, hence the separate entry for updating the status and for posting the picture.

It's a great concept, and it works, but it is currently too long a process to post to facebook for me to personally use this on a regular occaision:
1. Refresh GPS location (it's great that this refreshes automatically, and when you refresh it is quite quick to update the location)
2. Post to Facebook.
3. Logs in to Ovi
4. Connects to Facebook
5. Finds locations
6. I select a location
7. I add a picture
8. Uploads.
For example, I was out walking with my family, I stopped capture and upload a photo, and by the time I had initiated the upload, they had walked off and I could not see them!!!!!!!
Seems that there are several areas that the process can be shortened/improved ...
- logging into my Ovi account - if I am posting to facebook, why do I need to see that I am logging in to my Ovi Account???? If I have to do this, it should be done in the background, and the user not be aware of it. To the user this is a pointless step.
- I have the facebook widget already running, so do I really need to log in to and connect to facebook again? This to the user looks as if the device is doing something that it does not need to do.
- Finding locations - this can take a while, and is frustrating if there is no location referenced after the search has happened. PoI's that I have created in the maps app don't seem to be consistently visible. User should have the option to skip this step or create a new PoI for the post, which is then added to maps Favourites.
