It would be really amazing to have the freedom to send free SMS between Nokia devices, but without being connected to the internet. I mean, like in some sorth of a Nokia Platform Registered Owners.

yeah, its is going to be sick as the text messging is a big part of the everyday life
well it could a great idea.. but the connection between the nokia phones need a kind of "connection", I think Nokia could make with a Bluetooth connection. That means you need to have your Bluetooth turned on. If they made it with Bluetooth only the models with Bluetooth 2.0 or better would work(the connection range).
They could also make it with a WiFi connection, that will mean the problem about Bluetooth range is gone so far. But not many can use it, only people with WiFi.
But aren't the sms really cheap in use ? Nokia could instead make the sms service a bit faster between Nokia models. specielly they should do it on the S60 versions and N-Gages.
The other problem would be security with bluetooth and wi-fi.
To enable bluetooth and wi-fi messaging between phones the users would either have to set up connections with all the people they need to communicate with first or set there phone to show their connections unsecurely enable other "bad people" to hack there phones and do "bad things".
Nokia are looking at a Near Field Communication. Doesn't answer this question but pretty interesting all the same:

If the recipient is within Bluetooth range, why not talk to him/her instead? :)
