I use E71 with most recent firmware update.
Today I installed maps 3.0 and updated map data.
When I calculate the route on OVI portal I get most optimum route consistently.
However when I attempt to calcualte the route from E71 (it does an online calcuation) it gets me a very round about route which suggests portal and handheld are probably not looking at the same database.
I plotted a route on my computer using Ovi and synched my N82 to it. However when I went to use it the phone tried to calculate the route for 10 minutes and I eventually just cancelled it because it was taking too long.
I also have an N95-3 but I find Maps works better on the 82, but it still crashes a lot. Especially if I try to go into the Explore screen, it often freezes there. I wish there was an option when you calculate a route on Ovi to have the turn by turn directions listed for free and then if you want it guided to pay for the service.
I'm apprehensive to buy the turn by turn license with how often Maps crashes. Hopefully an update will stabilize the application and make it more reliable.
