Going to be installing the Final Release (non beta) when I get home this evening. Hopefully It will find my City Explorer Licence again although the latest beta version doesn't even give me the option to buy anything other than Drive and Traffic whic I also already own aswell.
Hopefully I will actually see the saftey cameras too. I did in the end on my N95 8Gb, but nothing on my new N97.
We'll see.

I found the trick to get the City Explorer option to appear in the shop is to set the shop to "All Regions", it didn't appear in the default Europe shop. I've just installed the Final release and bought the City Explorer.
So far so good and the safety Cameras are still appearing on my n95, they only reappeared on Sunday, and I've no idea how I got them back after not seeing them for weeks.

I installed this last night and and mentioned in my other thread, it totally crashed my phone. I had to hold 3 reset keys down while tuning on the phone to get it to work or take it in for repair. Lucky the reset worked and I reinstalled everything and things including OMM3 are working. Still takes a very long time for GPS to lock if it ever does. I have found if I cannot get a GPS lock to turn the phone off then on again and it works even thought it's slow.
Still lags behind on navigation eg tells you to turn off a roundabout when your 50 yards up the road, still loads of roads with white figures for speed limit and never had a speed warning as yet. I also lost all my favourites yesterday after syncing with ovi, getting no internet conection at start-up quite often and other things are happening still that have been mentioned on the forum.
I cannot find any mention on the forum of this new version, but maps updater is telling us.

Very shortly after the second beta it graduated. Thats fast, other software developers need more betas, them gammas (nowadays called RC). Like e.g. firefox. The trick seems to be, to skip the bugfixing step. Sorry for being sarcastic but instead of subtle evolvement of the first beta which worked for the most people including me you made a beta where you obviously changed quite a lot which broke it for me and for others badly. Without address search, which crashes Maps still, the program and my licenses a useless. Out of my own experiance as a software developer i suspect another apartment responsible for the rush, but this behaviour damages the good reputation nokia gained through betalabs.
Is it possible that only FP1 devices that have these problems?
I fully agree with what you are saying, as I've said the same in other posts. They should have fixed the known faults before messing about with other features. Also I have heard once you have used OMM3 with your licence, it converts to a different version that is incompatale with Nokia Maps 2. If this is the case there is nothing we can do, as even reinstalling the FW with version 2 included would not work due to licencing issuse.

It looks to me that they planned to release an another beta but maybe the boss said that it must be ready now. At least my maps says that it's version 3.01 09wk26 b02. Previous version was v.3.01 09wk24 b01 so I think that b01 & b02 means beta...
But atleast it is now somewhat working also on my E71. Previously it didn't get gps fix at all. I've noticed also some other minor fixes.
I have to agree that this "final" release was a surprise. And I also think that maps team should let us know what they have done and are planning to do in the future.
I am having the same problem as Mbrett, Nokia Map Updater either gives me the above failure message or says that it is encountering a problem and needs to close.
Also, exactly what are the differences between the latest beta 3.01 09wk26 b02 (which i installed on my mobile last night) and the graduated version? May be they are the same?

So I hear, 3.01 09wk26 b02 is the Full Release (NOT BETA) version.
The final beta version was 3.01 09wk24 b01.
An was pushed out a coulpe of weeks ago.
The version that became available yesterday was the Full Release Version (3.01 09wk26 b02).

I had the same error messages so i deinstalled everythink belonging to nokia pc suite and then reinstalled the newest version of pc suite. After this everything worled again. Probably had a some kind of a mess on my pc.
Whilst I had no problem installing the Full Release on my N95, its sadly no more reliable or useable than the final beta was. It still aborts, crashes, hangs regularly. The navigation can't be relied on since it usually silently stop working at some random point of the journey. At least the safety cameras sort of work.
I assume now its been officially released there is full support for it so we can get help with the problems. I bet the Nokia support people will rather busy:-)

If this is a final release it's a joke, how can software knowingly be release with so many bugs. I would not have even released this as another beta version.
You have even created more bugs than the first beta for the N95 and other phones had in the beginning. When I first installed the first beta, I thought it was and would be the best piece of software for nokia phones. I was prepared like others to put up with the bugs hoping they would be resolved and extra feature added at a later date.
What happened next was quite a lot of the original bugs stayed, more bugs added and all local speed limits removed making speed warnings we pay for useless (used to work fine, just needed further updates), others have saftey camera's missing. Even the vocal alerts for being over the limit are so high (if even there) that you could get banned off the road before even getting the warning if caught. The UK can either have speed canera's working for the exact speed limit or 10% extra depending on the county your driving through (I heard the government give the local authorities the choice of extact or +10%).
The maps team also informed us we would get more feedback, if anything there has been less. People on this forum have had more help off people like mbrett, navio1973 and others (I also try.. LOL). The maps teams needs to listen (Kee did seem to listen, but the rest of the maps team might not have listened to him) to all of us and fix known bugs rather than trying to add extras which should get added after software works.
I know the maps team must be working hard and we do appreiciate it, but please sort the main bugs and reinstall speed limits that verbally warn us on or very slightly over the limits.
Sorry if I went on a bit or this sounds nasty (It's not ment to). We all need to work together to get the best mobile satnav software in the world working correctly and yes OMM3 could be the best if you listen and act on what users are telling you on this forum.

I also got this message for the passed 24 hours. I feel lik it has something to do with me being in america reaching to the europe server. I have tried on 2 pc's 1 xp, one vista. no luck. Uninstalled all nokia pc apps and reinstalled, still no luck. Please if anyone has a fix for this please post.
version v3.01 09wk26 b02 on my N96 now and the app still crashes when searching for an address...
Is anyone getting this problem now that this new version is available.
On the N95 8Gb everytime I connect the in-car charger while OMM3 is loading, it closes and goes back to the normal n95 screen. This never happened on any other version.

Only today I saw the new version of OM3, but installing the new maps updater I have got the same problem of mbrett of the comment #8. Following the suggestion of magick , I repaired the installation of pc suite and after it worked good.

PC Suite told me there was an update just before I installed OMM3, so had no problems. I have since had to update pc suite yet again (strange!!!)
I am still finding it takes a very long time for the GPS to get a lock, if it ever does. If it does'nt, I have found either selecting a route and selecting drive-to or closing OMM3 down and restarting gets the GPS lock within 30 seconds.
The map lag I had, has now reduced quite a lot and it normally informs me just a fraction behind the location I'm at.
I have tried that flicker problem while showing the location and i'm not getting that at the moment.
Hope you all get sorted soon. It is great software even though it's very buggy and as you will have noticed the maps team are not really bothering with us again (or not that I've noticed).

I might be looking at thing wrongly, but I could not see any question or bugs replied to, but someone praised it and they got an reply. MMMMmmmmmm
We need problems sorting like your safety camera's and I want all the original speed limits back with the verbal warnings working agin either at the limit or 10% more (should be an easy thing to impliment), but does'nt look like it'll happen (Or will it?)

kee has been very helpful in the past, so I', sure there won't be any link. He has responded to many posts in the past.
The problem we could have now is tha as the application has now "Graduated" there is no guarantee on what the future release plan will be.
It would be nice to have a post from kee and the development team to advise on the future of OVI Maps and plans for bug squashing and development.
I realise this project is no longer supported by Nokia via the Betalabs site as it has Graduated, but some development teams do still view the threads post graduation. We'lljust have to see if the Maps Team do.

mbrett I know Kee has been a great help on here over the months and was the main member of the maps team to help.
It just seemed odd after masses of questions to them and one came on and got the reply ASAP.
I would love the team to keep in touch the same as the rest of us, as we all have found good and bad points with the software. Who will now support the software now, as there are still quite a lot of issues with it and after all, it should NOT have graduated with the known bug & problems.
After all it took months between the beta versions (as quite buggy) and then about 2 weeks between a buggy beta and the finnished product (Who wanted it rushed it out?)
Can The maps teams please inform us all who to contact now if your not supporting it, as we cannot go back to maps 2 in an emergency, as our licenses have been change to work with version 3.

Hopefully development will continue and the bugs will be sorted.
It may be that we have to move our discussions re: OVI Maps to the Nokia Discussion Forums as this is where all the non betalabs testers will be complaining about the bugs we are already aware of.
