Just downloaded Maps 3.0 Beta and tried to install it, when I run the "Nokia Maps Updater" it looks for my phone, finds it but then comes up with the following message:
Cannot get enough information about the phone (3)
No update info found for the phone(16). the phone appears not to be supported.
Is the n95-8gb not supported?!
The phone has the latest firmware update (20.2.005). The phone does have Maps 2.0 wk45 b03 installed

Maps 3 is not compatible with S60v3 FP1, which includes N95. A version for FP1 devices would be available in the future.
but it is understandable.. in the video u see a n95 8gb with nokia maps 3.0 :D
i hope the fp1 version will come soon.. my n82 is so boring without it :D
is it the same case with E71?

Thanks for the response, I just found the other post you referred to.
Nokia is sending a mixed message as the video about Maps 3.0 shows the n95-8gb being used ;)

Yes bassamj, that's right at the moment.

Yeah the cryptic error message doesn't help either. What are the numbers in ( )?--not that I want to know. If N95 8GB is not supported currently, can you just say that?
I've got a nokia n95 8gb and whenver i connect it in any mode, pc suite of data storage and run maps updater, maps updater crashes with fault module msvcr90.dll. I'm using vista with sp1 and latest nokia pc suite etc, any suggestions ?

I am currently using Maps 2.0, and wondering what are the steps required to properly move to Maps 3.0. I have been holding back as I had heard many issues pertainng to Maps 3.0. Would appreciate if the step-by-step procedures to do so can be shared.
I downloaded the sis file from somewhere else, dunno why isn't it as simple as this ? http://www.e71blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/Nokia_Maps_3.0_0302_3..... Worked for me.
Try using Nokia OVI instead of Nokia PC Suite there are some destinct differences that I have fuond and this works fine on my Vista Ultimate x64 PC.
Uninstall PC Suite and Map Updater.
Install OVI and then re-installl Map Updater and see how that does.
