Review for Ovi Maps 3.0 Beta for mobile

+ has not crashed or freezed
+ the magnetic compass works quite ok
- address search does not support search-just-by-street-address
- outdated map data (e.g. Finland, Nummela). During one navigation test (from Helsinki to Nummela and back) the navigator instructed to turn to forbidden direction -- in three different crossings. Once I was instructed to make an U turn on a divided road.
- bad positioning during navigation. During my navigation test the position kept jumping if there was another road nearby. This resulted in frequent re-routings. And I was driving on a motorway...
- very artificial sounding voices
- the "now turn" instructions come often too late, when I am already half way turning
- the magnetic compass is wobbly: especially when you walk the map keeps turning back and forth

Would not recommed this as a drive navigator. Not reliable enough.

As another 6210 Nav user, here is my review (well so far):

+ has not crashed or freezed.
+ can get GPS lock in 2-4 mins (usually) in good condition. If I turn on A-GPS and network positioning, I usually get a lock within 30 secs.
+ the maps for Australia is updated (well at least for the part of Sydney and Newcastle)
+ I get along with the search function well (maybe because I haven't used other gps software before). The offline search is also useful (however, some of the POIs near my areas are outdated, e.g. showing a petrol station that has long been gone).
+ like those 3D landmarks.
+ being able to downland maps across the world for free.
+ the compass is functioning well (but hard to activate sometimes).

- Sometimes Maps 3.0 does not show my position accurately. I could be off by 100 meters for some instance (this is annoying)!!!
- The route calculated is neither the fastest nor the shortest. Its keeps on asking you to travel through main roads all the times. Sometimes, it will ask you to take a longer route which is bad as no one will even take such route after checking the actual street directory!!!

Overall, I am quite happy with Maps 3.0 (minus the navigation part). For me, I enjoy using it as a handy street directory and as a POI searcher. Not very impressed with the navigation function however. I don't know whether I will purchase another Drive licence at the end of my 6 month free trial.
